Purchased As New
I am 6' 2" tall, 250 lbs and I fit comfortably in the vehicle. Is it a Cadillac to ride around in, no. I've gone across town and across country in it without any major complaints. If you buy the vehicle for it's intended purpose (basic transportation), you won't be upset with the results. It's not a luxury vehicle, it's not a performance vehicle, it's intended to be a basic, reliable method of transportation. Right off the dealership floor this vehicle had issues. The front brake rotors were warped, requiring replacement. The a/c compressor was horribly noisy and had to be replaced at 27 miles. The initial quality control is not there. I have done research and spoken with other Versa owners. This model is plagued with "start-up" issues. It's like Nissan turned them out in a hurry to fill a niche market and left the dealers to make them right after they are purchased. I now have approx. 25k miles. If driven properly, I average about 31mpg on the hwy, mid-20's in town. I have the 6-spd manual version. The acceleration is acceptable given it's power-to-weight ratio and it's intended market place as an econo-car. Just like everything else Nissan has produced lately, it has the ignorant "service engine light" issue due to the gas cap. I know 4 other Nissan owners that have different models and they all have the same issue. If Nissan would put a little more commitment into their quality control and design, it would go a long way with the consumer. Overal, as a basic car, yes, it's a good buy. Purchase it with the correct thoughts in place and you won't be disappointed.
