- Pros
- Lots of room, even in the back, for tall (6' +) passengers.
- Cons
- The speedometer is off by 7 miles an hour (dealer confirmed). In a word, it's annoying.

When one sees the price of the 1.6 and 1.6 base, realize that it's a "bait and switch" car. The 1.6 is advertised with a low price tag to get you into the dealer, then they'll push you toward a 1.8 Versa. Accordingly, each dealer may get two or three 1.6 Versa's a year, for this purpose, where they can get an unlimited supply of 1.8's.
The problem with my 1.6 Versa is that the speedometer is off by 7 miles an hour. (I.E. it reads 70 when I'm actually doing 63) Even the on-board computer says the car is going 3 MPH when the car is sitting still. (This have been verified at the dealer.) Similarly, the odometer is off by about 10%, reading more mileage than it should.
After I pushed the issue, Nissan offered to buy it back from me but that leaves me footing the bill for taxes, title, tags, and other surcharges along with having to buy a more expensive car (the 1.8 Versa). Taking that into consideration and noting that I like the car, other than this single annoying issue, I opted to wait for a fix.
While it is a matter of reprogramming this problem has existed for, literally, years. It hasn't been fixed because of priorities. Since Nissan only makes a hand full of 1.6 Versa's per year, the 1.6 speedometer / odometer issue is a low priority, at the bottom of the pile.
In any case, you have been warned....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- PLENTY OF ROOM INSIDE, APPEARANCE, 6 CD CHANGER, COMFORTABLE RIDE
- Cons
- POOR GAS MILEAGE, A LITTLE NOISY FOR A 6 MONTH OLD, WEAK STEREO AMPLIFIER CAR
Purchased As Used
I bought this 2011 as a used car. Drives pretty smooth but gas millage is not good at all. My old Toyota camry with bigger engine had a better gas mileage. It has started to make some brake noise and creaking noise which is too early for a car with 9k miles on it.
I got a goos deal on it otherwise it is not worth to be bought full price...read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- High value for $$, spacious interior, surprisingly peppy
- Cons
- Good, but not great fuel economy for this car class
Purchased As Used
This is a very good entry-level product from Nissan. It is affordable, roomy (both in the cabin and in the trunk), and it has surprising pep considering the size of the engine.

while this is really a smaller car than I normally prefer, I have definitely come to appreciate it. it gets excellent mileage, has plenty of room, has a killer stereo system and I am loving the sunroof! my brother helped me pick it out and he said nissan products last forever. if a girl can't trust her big brother, who can she trust?!...read morehide

My wife and I bought a lemon from another dealership, and we had to replace it pronto. We went to the lot and were shown this car but we were skeptical. After we both drove it, we fell in love with it. My wife wasn't too sure about the color (black) but she loves the car. It has everything we need for our small family and it has a large enough trunk that we can haul our baby's stroller around with ease and still have room for other stuff. All in all it's a great little car....read morehide

My dad rented this car for me for a week and I enjoyed driving it. It's so spacious and excellent on gas. I am married with two small children and we fit fine in the car fine. It has great leg room, spacious all around, a good size trunk. I would recommend buying this car. I loved it and we're thinking about purchasing one as our around the town vehicle just because how good it is on gas....read morehide

- Pros
- Great mileage, very roomy, CVT tranny
- Cons
- Not much

The inside is like a midsize car, but the gas mileage is great, especially with $4 gas looming this summer. Optional features like 6 CD player, MP3, air bags, etc lead the pack

It is your basic car. But, it has a large and roomy interior and the trunk in the sedan is massive.

- Pros
- Roomy, Zoomy, frugal on gas
- Cons
- Would have liked center armrest in S version.

Have only owned this car I week. Strongly suggest buying with help from Nissan web site. Received actual written competing bids from dealers. Car was well discounted. I prefer the sedan - those wanting to carry long objects should consider hback. The sedan trunk is huge, but must go to SL trim (plastic wood trim, electronic toys, etc) to get fold down rear seat.
