They say the CVT version of the Nissan versa sedan gets 30 in city and 38 on hwy. I am getting 38 in city and 46 on hwy. I love this car after having driven a 5.9 liter durango that gets 10 miles in city and 14 maybe on hwy.

The local Honda dealership wanted to give me way less for my 06 civic than the Ford dealership down the road. Thought I wanted another Honda but went with Focus.... many more options that are standard....Took husband to help me look at Hondas and after half an hour not one person came out to check on us.....we left....read morehide

Bought the Versa sedan after an extensive test drive. Took it on the freeway. Lots of power. Great interior guages and layout. Lots of "Toys" such as radio controlls on the steering wheel etc. I liked the appearance of the sedan. I just bought it but can't wait to drive it from Montreal to Toronto next week....read morehide

- Pros
- Great on gas, light clutch, larger interior then you think
- Cons
- very light, gets blown around on highway

5 speed base model purchased for wife's winter car (she hates automatics??). Can't beat the price of 10,990. No frills, but that was known going in. Have about 1200 miles on car now, averaging 42.5 MPG. Beats the snot out of 15 MPG in my F150. Very light at highway speeds, you can feel trailer trucks as they pass.
Epic sized trunk and interior. Tight knap of seat material makes every piece of fuzz stick to it. Invest in a dust buster for quick clean ups in car.
Overall pleased, would buy it again in a heartbeat....read morehide2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

This is a great little car that is big inside. Got this vehicle with auto CVT trans, air, cruise, all the safety features (traction control, stability control, and six air bags) for $13,500. Getting 33.6 miles per gallon in all city driving. Love the simple straight forward dash. Engine is quiet and smooth. Don't expect a Cadillac or Lexus ride and features for this price, but if you want a great car to go from point A to point B at a savings, this is the car for you....read morehide

I love my Nissan Versa. Have had it for almost a month now. My first brand new car. Can't wait to take it to Tenn. to see my daughter and grandchildren and son-n-law. Great mileage in town. So much room and huge trunk. Love my blue tooth. Have no problems so far and don't expect any. Can't wait to see if Car and child seat will fit in back. Tenn. here I come....read morehide

- Pros
- Great fuel economy, Bluetooth and steering mounted controls
- Cons
- Average looks, my God is it noisy! Cheap looking controls

The Versa is Nissan's entry level budget car. It sells for around 11,000 for a zero frills at all version. I have put about 370 miles on my new SL( the top of the line as Versa's go.) For the commuter looking to save on gas. Or for a college student this is the perfect car for you. Averaging nearly 30mpg in city you will be driving past the pump laughing at people filling up. The bluetooth and steering mounted stereo controls make it easy and safer to mess with your music. I find the seats comfortable and leg room a plenty. It drives pretty smooth and corners okay for as big a sedan as it is. Looks are average not ugly but certainly not head turning. Some of the dashboard controls look kinda cheap and plastic. I HATE THE ENGINE NOISE! This cars biggest drawback is how much noise from the engine makes it into the cabin. And to make manners worse the 4 cylinder engine offers no pickup what so ever. In short if your in the 16,000-17,000 thousand range consider this car. However if you can spare a few more grand I would suggest buying something else. This is the perfect car for in city commuters, college kids, and people looking to scale back on how much they spend putting in there gas tank....read morehide

My wife and I got this new car a week after it got here. We just passed 5k on the odometer. I can get an average mileage in the upper 30's to low 40's around town. The problem though I have found is how to do it. accelerate as fast as possible to your chosen speed, then engage the cruise control. We played with it to Oregon and back to northern California through the mountains and were able to get 39.9 MPG average, that was over a tank and a half. We bought this car solely to get a cheap car with good gas mileage, WE DID! Plus AAA is only $36 a month for us because the car is so safe. How awesome is that?!?
We live in a windy area and I have noticed that this cars light weight and small footprint make it a bit swirly on the freeway with crosswinds....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.
