- Pros
- Roomy, great gas mileage, great features available, fun to drive
- Cons
- Not enough storage bins, lack of power
Purchased As New
This is a great little car. Power is missing if you want to go 0-60, but adequate for highways. Tons of leg room in the back, large truck, great gas mileage. 13,500 miles and no problems. Really fun to drive. You can't go wrong buying this car.

Replaced my Mom's old 87 Caprice with this car. Needed a dependable car that i could keep in Nebraska and use to visit her in Kanas. 46mpg if i drive it 60 mph with cruise. Still gets around 39 @ 7mpg. Love this car. Not a luxury car by any means but gets great mileage without having to get into the hybrid mode. When America wises up and drills and uses our own reserves it will be cars like this that make a diffence in consumption....read morehide

- Pros
- Incredible value in cheap family car - room and fuel economy
- Cons
- Dull to drive

Purchased to replace my Scion xA because I needed more room for travelling with the family. The Nissan has more room, gets much better mpg at interstate speeds, and even manages slightly better mpg around town! First car I've owned in 20 years without a manual. Though boring, the CVT works well, and it's a sacrifice I was willing to make for fuel efficiency.
I bought the S model with the cruise control package. That means crank windows, manual locks, seats that look like they are covered in landscaping fabric, and acres of hard plastic. Yes, this car looks CHEAP, but the engineering is still top-notch, so I don’t mind. If you’re an automotive minimalist like me, be warned. Because power locks are so ubiquitous, key holes are now considered superfluous. There is a key hole for the trunk, and the driver’s door. And since the S model does not have a fold down rear seat, you can’t even use the trunk as an emergency entrance. So if your lock freezes, or driver’s door handle breaks, you have no way into the car! I consider this a legitimate safety issue. I addressed it by spending $450 to have power locks installed aftermarket. That only did the rear doors. Doing all 4 would be an additional $200....read morehide4 out of 5 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Plush Ride, Roomy Interior & great backseat leg room.
- Cons
- A lot of plastic in the interior & no center arm rest.

I liked our 2012 Nissan Versa SV sedan. We have had it about a month & am getting great gas mileage, only been to the gas station twice in month. We like the Huge back seat & interior room & large trunk. Look, if you are looking for a sporty fast powerful car that hugs the road like a Ferrari, this is NOT your car. If you are looking for an inexpensive small but roomy family car with a plush ride then this IS your car. The Versa is like a scaled down Maxima but the back seat leg room is LARGER than the Maxima. The delaership we bought it from gave us a complimentary 7-year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty which gives us peace of mind that we have a good car....read morehide

- Pros
- Space, Nissan reliability, great paint job, lots of airbags, high tech engine
- Cons
- Light at 75 mph, no fold down rear seat, interior materials hard

I have the 5 speed base model. It runs great, cold air conditioning, zero problems, 37 mpg in mixed driving. I've read unglamorous car mag road tests and I disagree with them. This is a commuter car intended for use under 65mph most of the time. Fleet proven with taxi use in Mexico. That understood, the car has great performance and features including safety, engine technology, body structure, space in back, etc. Mine cost just over $13000 out the door with tax and plates. It is the best bargain around. I own 3 other cars including a new BMW 7 series and I drive the Versa most often....read morehide

- Pros
- good cargo space
- Cons
- everything else

Louzy car, you get passed by a turtle with a hand break going up the hill, the car has no pickup,
Louzy performance for a 1.6 L engine, not so great on gaz, act like a sail boat when windy,
Has good cargo space for a small car.
Will never buy a nissan again.2 out of 10 people found this review helpful.

This car is an excellent value for the money. The price was right and the mileage, excellent. I would recommend anyone looking for an inexpensive used car look at this first. We paid less for a 2012 model than we would have for one on the lot that was two years older.

- Pros
- Great fuel economy, comfortable, nice trunk
- Cons
- 0-5/mph a little jumpy.

Bought this 2012 for the winter after picking up a 2012 BMW 525i GT. So far since the good weather is here, I have only taken out the BMW once. I love this Versa. It just feels good around you. Great mileage 38mpg, decent audio, power windows, bluetooth, cruise, large trunk, rear seats fold down for more room. The only minor, and I mean minor drawback is the constant velocity transmission is a little jumpy at slow speeds, say 0-8/mph but other than that this is a great car. Looked at Honda, Toyota but this was priced better. Initially I didn't care, just wanted something inexpensive for the winter but now you can't get me out of this car.
I think I am going to sell the BMW, I never driver it over the Versa....read morehide3 out of 4 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Wow, great fuel economy but feels like a bigger car.
- Cons
- Tends to move around somewhat in strong crosswinds.
Purchased As New
We bought this vehicle because we were impressed how it felt driving down the highway. It rides likes a bigger car, and we often forget it is considered a compact. The Versa Sedan has lots of room for backseat riders and the trunk is suprisingly roomy. Admittedly, the CV transmission is not us thrusty feeling as the conventional automatics, but what it returns is fuel mileage. Great fuel mileage! Although the new Versa does not boast the 40mpg rating, its combined fuel mileage rating is better than most of the other cars who are boasting 40 mpg. And, in my experience, I am getting more than 40mpg hwy. My only concern has been crosswinds - the car moves about a little more in the backend than other vehicles I have owned. I think if passengers or cargo were in the back it would alleviate the movement, but best remember that this car is light. So far, I have been impressed with the Versa Sedan, and even though it is has been overshadowed with other manufacturers in the same market, I believe the 2012 Versa Sedan will prove to be a worthy car to own in the long run. It's a keeper!!...read morehide
