2005 Nissan Xterra User Reviews

- Great HP to MPG; Comfort, Styling & Performance. A hard package to put together!
If you want the best "bang" for the buck, look no further! This SUV has it all. Whether towing or packing for a trip in the mountains, the Xterra delivers the performance and ruggedness needed to tackle any outing. Living in CA we enjoy a variety of conditions, which requires a tough and dependable vehicle. The Exterra delivers everything and want cost a fortune at the pump (reg prices avg. 2.50/gal).
Commuting in traffic is not a problem. The Exterra handles this with ease and comfort. It is by far the best SUV I have owned!
Nissan is really listening to their customers. The Exterra is a good example....read morehide

- Power, room, and appointments.
- None so far.
I drove 04 and 05 back to back and the 05 has so much more power it was worth another $3K! The look and feel of the Xterra is awesome and with the right packages comes pretty darn loaded. I highly recommend buying a 2005 XTERRA.

- Great Look, Great Performance, Great Utility
- I Sometimes Have To Leave It!
This is one outstanding vehicle. Nissan has taken a classic vehicle already loved by active, adventure-lovers everywhere, ran the risk of trying to improve on a successful model, and hit a home-run. My hats off to Nissan! This thing has got power. Nissan needed more engine in their X and they found a big one. I've owned a couple of SUVs - this is by far the best. It also has so many cubbies and tie-downs and little innovative things that make life easier. The only problem I have had with it is that everyone wants to see it! It takes too long to pull away from them and get back on the road! The Rockford-Fosgate Stereo is a solid, balanced sound system and is better than any factory system I have heard yet (sounds much like the Bose in Nissan's new Pathfinder). All the buttons/controls are where you would want them to be. The seating is comfortable - even for hours on the road (which I've already done). Sorry for rambling, but I can't say enough good about this truly outstanding vehicle!...read morehide

- Great engine, great 6spd, comfortable seats, great off roader, fun to drive!
- Dashboard:No variety in color.
I live in Colorado and I own this Xterra and a 2004 Titan. Also my wife drives a Infiniti FX45. This is just a great vehicle, off or on the road. The biggest change from my old 2002 Xterra is the engine and tranny! The old one used to be sluggish, but this one is super fast! The 6spd manual is also a blast!!! This truck must of been designed with dirty people in mind, because I really appreciate the easily wipable dashboard, though I wouldn't mind more color, like my 02 xterra. Thats about the only con about this truck. The build quality is great, with no squeaks or rattles. Overall, a much improved truck from the last generation, and would recommend it to anyone!...read morehide

- Aggressive appearance, outstanding drivetrain, full of features
- Can't get 6-speed in SE trim
Like others, I have been waiting for this truck for months. I was very frustrated to find that the 6-speed isn't offerred in SE trim. I am very happy with the Off Road, but Nissan nearly cost themselves a sale. I'm not sure what kind of pansy they think they are marketing to with all auto's in the highest model. Makes them loose credibility in the adventure segment....read morehide

- Rockford Fosgate sound system on the SE trim is awsome. Subwoofer under driver seat doesnt bother me
- fuel lid is not lockable. if your scared, just go buy one at the auto store and you are good to go
if your looking for a small to mid sized SUV with lots of power (245hp) fully loaded under $30k, than this is the one to get. no other vehicle in its class can match that. Ive been tracking this vehicle since june 2004 and its been nothing but anticiaption with no let downs.

- Increased HP, 6 speed manual, 60/40 split rear seat, sweet styling, shift on the fly 4WD
I recently traded in my "03 for an '05 and I am more than satisfied. Nissan must have been listening because they have eliminated all of the drawbacks from the '03 model. The boost in power ,the addition of the 6 speed manual and shift on the fly 4WD make this truck perfect.

- Power and Confront
The "X" is replacing a Rav4. This SUV is "daylight to dark" to the 4. The 2005 Nissan Xterra Off Road 4x4 with its 265 hp is great, the ride is smooth with very little road noise, loads of power, can pass without planning. The interior is lush but useful, lots of storage room and people room. Seats are great for buckets. Sound system has very rich sound. The profile of the exterior has a stance that is ready for some off road action. I am very pleased....read morehide

- TOTALLY REDESIGNED. CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THE IMPROVEMENTS OF AN SUV THAT WAS ALREADY GREAT!
I OWNED A 2002 XTERRA SE-SC. I THOUGHT THAT WAS A GREAT TRUCK FOR THE MONEY. NISSAN CONTINUES TO OUTDO THEMSELVES WHEN THEY BUILD OR REDESIGN A VEHICLE. THIS IS MY FOURTH NISSAN IN SIX YEARS AND THIS 2005 XTERRA IS JUST WHAT THEY CLAIM.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED, NOTHING YOU DON'T! THE NEW XTERRA IS A GREAT BARGAIN! IT IS PERFECT FOR ANYONE THAT WANTS A GREAT SUV AND DOESN'T WANT TO HAVE TO TAKE A SECOND MORTGAGE TO OWN IT. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK NISSAN!...read morehide
