- Killer ride.
- Gas mileage a little to low.
I bought an 06 xterra 4X2 not a week later it snowed real heavy. My xterra made it up a steep hill that other trucks and front wheel drive cars could not. It did so well thanks to the anti slip controll which I did'nt even know it had. I don't know why there are complaints on the ride personally I think the ride is the best I've ever experienced. As a whole I am very pleased I just wished that I could of afforded a brand new one.....read morehide

- Fuel Mileage is great
- Radio in the S model is not the best
There are several reviews that say the fuel mileage is not very good....well I check mine on just about every fill up and I get between 18.5 and 19.5 mpg during everyday driving. When I get on the highway, if I keep it under 70 mph, I will get 23 mpg. I consider that pretty darn good given the fact that it can tow my 19 foot bass boat or a 16 foot trailer loaded with 3 ATV's and not miss a beat. When towing my boat with the wife and kids and a gear for a weekend camping trip, I make roughly 12 mpg.I love my Xterra. I only have one complaint...the cargo area scratches very easily. I bought the Xterra carpet for the cargo area and that has helped a bunch....read morehide

- Looks, good acceleration for an SUV and did I mention looks
- Fuel Economy, lots of hard plastic in the interior
I great first SUV, even 2WD has decent off road performance, but as nice as it looks I dont want to take it off road.

- Nice styling, good build quality, great value
- Brakes, fuel consumption, NOT FOR SOCCER MOMS
Very powerful, Nissan V6 engines #1 for the past 12 years among the pros. Bought the S version for $18 K. Toyota FJ costs 10 k more, if you do not believe go to the dealer yourself.
This car is good for daily commute and outdoors, but not for families with kids. Stick with Honda and toyota if you want a soft ride (RAV4, Pilot, CR-V) all front drive cars....read morehide

- Power, Looks, Seats
- MPG, Steering Wanders On Highway
Don't expect good gas milage, but it is definitely worth the trade-off for the power and size. I can peel out and pass on the highway easily. It's fun to drive (I just got back from a 300 mile trip in the rain) and pretty comfortable. I'm 6'1" 300lbs and I have plenty of room. The seats are two-tone, which looks killer. The ride isn't as harsh as some people say, but the steering does wander a little on the highway. The cruise control on the steering wheel is easy to use. The stereo is pretty basic, but it doesn't sound bad at all. I love my Xterra and can't wait to get it off road. I recommend it for highway drivers, you will love it....read morehide

- Wider Frame, better location for stereo and speakers, hard plastic back.
- Location of outlets, no upper tracks for back.
This is my 5th Nissan and my 2nd Xterra. I had a 02 SE and loved it. The 06 has more hp, wider inside, smooth transition for a manual and 6-Speeds. How can you go wrong. I went 400 miles on one tank of gas from driving on the Highway. I wouldn't have gotten that from my 02. I love the fact that the back is a hard plastic and has tracks on the bottom, but should have them on top and be able to lock in place as well. I like knowing I am saving some gas by having the 6th gear. Down fall to have the basic 4x2 is losing the 6 CD Changer. The locations of the outlets is a little in convenient and losing the one for the back seat and putting in the very back of the trunk area is not a good idea. But overall I love my new Xterra....read morehide

- Beautiful truck, easy clean cargo area, fold flat front seat
- some road noise, gas mileage, hard to get out of back seat
I bought my 2005 in Red Brawn last June. I love this truck because it's smaller than the full-size SUV's but can still haul my 3 large dogs and is easy to clean out. Since my purchase, we have moved further out of town and I spend a great deal more on gas money. That's my biggest complaint though. Well, that and that I didn't get the foglights which would be a great help driving those backroads on my way home.
Still.... I LOVE MY TRUCK!!...read morehide

- great power, good size hold its resale value better than average
- lousy gas milage 16 mpg, plastic scratches easy, no locking gas cap
just picked up a left over 2005 s, three weeks ago
got a great deal on it, solar yellow
its a great truck, love the power, good size,
hate the gas milage pretty low 16 mpg if you are lucky,
the plasic scractes really easy, it should have a locking gas cap.
should have come with fog lights
other than that I love it.
its the best suv for the money hands down
I was surpised to see a local dealer asking $9900 for a used one
with 157k on it, this tells me it hold it resale values pretty good...read morehide

- Lots of power, fun to drive, handles great in traffic and off road, nice looking interior..
- None yet
Allot of bang for the buck. I love driving it around town. Its zips in and out of traffic with little effort and doesnt wear me out like my dodge quad cab 1500 V8. The steps on the side help allot with the roof rack.
