- Nice High Ride, Looks Great, Dog Friendly
- New car smell giving me aheadache!
I love this truck! My dogs love this truck! All the hard plastic inside is so easy to clean. No need to worry about stained carpet. Great handling off road and in San Francisco.
The first month driving was hard on me and anyone in the car. The smell was giving us a headache and making us drowsy. Even the dogs fell asleep in back which they never do.
Making a turn is smooth, very little lean. Anyone who wants a solid and fun ride needs to get one of these!...read morehide

- Sits high, smooth looking in and out, a lot of power
- rough ride, no outside temp display
Love it. Everyone saying that it looks cheap inside is crazy! It looks nice and sofisticated. Doesn't have any cheap crappy fake wood paneling inside which is a huge plus!!! The Fosgate Stereo sounds amazing!!! Does great offroads. I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a great suv with looks and performance....read morehide

- Appearance; Power; Comfort; Storage Capabilities
- No tow package standard in SE; Rebates
I have had my 2005 Xterra SE for 4 months now and continue to fall in love with it. I love the unique body style of the Xterra and the comfort overall. The seats are very comfy and when driving, even over tough roads, the ride is still good. There are a lot of storage places in the front, on the seats and in the cargo area. There are even two separate glove boxes and several power outlets. I feel much safer driving in the snow up here in Alaska and the cold doesn't seem to affect the vehicle at all although I do have a block heater.
All in all, I am very happy with the purchase and plan on keeping this vehicle for a very long time. I do wish that the SE model came with the tow package because it seems that while there are extras, it needs more to justify paying almost $29000.00. But paid it I did and don't regret it....read morehide

- Excellent power, smooth transimission, useful storage with hooks and cubby nooks, looks cool!
- Perhaps gas mileage but getting 17 city to 23 hwy so not bad for a vehicle with 265 horsepower!
I have owned two toyota Camrys before this Xterra. The Toyota Camrys always served me well and were both reliable and dependable. However, my new Xterra is fun! It is about the same length as the Camry, fits in my garage nicely and is easy to park because it isn't a land-barge of an SUV. It easily maneuvers in the the city and off-road if needed.
This is the most fun that I have had with a vehicle. I wish I had purchased one sooner. My wife and I do a lot of mountain biking, surfing and other outdoor activities. This works great for these active hobbies but also makes just getting groceries a good time!
The high riding position of the Xterra also has excellent visibilty. I test drive the FJ as I like Toyota but the visibilty was horrible plus the rear doors in the FJ aren't very functional for a family. The Xterra's full size rear doors work great for getting people and cargo alike in and out!
The V-6 engine is amazing with a lot of torque and power. It has a good "growl" sound to it that makes it fun to start every time. This may sound corny but go test drive one and you will see what I mean.
My wife and I were surprised with how well it drives around town and corners. With such a high riding postion we were worried it would lean and bob in the corners. Actually, the Xterra stays very stable thoughout corners and is a comfortable ride on pavement.
I stongly recommend the Nissan Xterra as it presents a fun ride in a mid-size SUV that is functional for active lifestyles as well as the daily routine. Oh, I forgot to mention that it gets a 5-star side impact rating in crash tests. This is yet another reason for this purchase....read morehide
