Take a look at other brands than is better

by Fred from CA (7/08/08)
Pros:Just because it's a Nissan doesn't mean its great.
Cons:All hype and no show, that's what's happening in car buying nowdays. Brand recall!

I would have gotten the Murano, but I didn't like the ugly front grille and the gas mileage isn't that great either. Ride is rough and too much plastic around that it appears a cheap SUV. I got to look at other brands that would give a better look, more MPG, ride, interior/exterior appearance, price and warranty!

top of the class

by Stanich from N.E. Ohio (6/27/08)
Pros:highway is about 22 mpg
Cons:ride is commenaurate with a vehicle far from the ground

CVT Transmission is great it descends hills without constant braking with great throttle control. The BOSE stereo shouts. Best crossover vehicle I drove. The BMW X3 couldnt compete with test drives I took of these two vehicles. Price is equitable with what you get in this package. The V6 has gobs of torque for all types of terrain.

Tne fact that its not a truck platform like most SUV's is a big plus for handling.

Thrilled with our choice

by Laura Cooley from Corinth, MS (6/09/08)
Pros:Very quiet, tight handling, luxurious interior
Cons:Needs to have backup alarm

We just bought our Murano about three weeks ago and are really enjoying it! I traded in my Nissan Quest that I really liked because I didn't need the third row seating anymore. I knew I would like to buy a crossover that wasn't too big so I did alot of research before I started looking. The Murano drove like a car instead of a SUV. I love the luxurious interior and the sporty exterior. We cannot believe how quiet the engine is! When you're stopped you would almost think that the engine has gone dead. It makes traveling with someone so nice because you can hear each other so easily! (The Quest was not so quiet!) I love the screen that shows what's behind you when you're backing up. However, I do wish that it had the backup alarm that beeps if anything is close when you're in reverse. The Quest had this and it makes you very dependent on it. I also love how comfortable the seats are and the Bose sound system. Our girls love how roomy and comfortable the back seat is. It will be great for vacations. There is also ample room in the cargo space. We did not choose to get a sunroof this time because I never touched mine on the Quest. I was a little concerned that it might seem a little more closed in but I have not missed that feature at all. Needless to say we think Nissan has really outdone themselves with the new 09 Murano and we are thrilled with our choice!

2009 Murano SL AWD

by Jeff from Portland, OR (6/08/08)
Pros:Great vehicle. Solid feel, plenty of power, smooth quiet ride, good mileage for an AWD vehicle.
Cons:Tire pressure monitoring system, headrests, rain sensing wiper system.

I love this new vehicle. I've got 700 miles on it and have enjoyed almost every minute. The ride is smooth and quiet and the feel is solid. I sit up high. Visibility isn't as good as a minivan, but nothing to complain about, you just have to know where to look. Satellite radio with the Bose speakers is fantastic. The push button start is a kick and I like the fact that I never have to take a key out of my pocket. Seating is comfortable (except for the headrests). Blue tooth is a piece of cake. You talk just as though someone was sitting next to your rather than monkeying with a phone while driving. A great safety feature.

A couple of imperfections. The rain sensitive wiper system has a mind of its own. I'd prefer an old fashioned intermittant wiper switch. The headrests are tilted too far forward, always hitting me in the back of the head (took them out an put them in backwards, much better), and the tire pressure monitoring system doesn't display current tire pressure like many domestic cars do, go figure.

Love my Murano!

by Susan from Southern NH (6/06/08)
Pros:Style,performance,economy,head and leg room.
Cons:Engine a bit loud with quick excelleration.

I Love my Murano! My husband and sons are over 6' tall. they all fit in his car! penty of head and leg room. I tested the fuel economy, Highway, while using cruise control and speeds not to exceed 71 mph, I was able to get close to 25 mpg. Around town, depending on conditions, 18-21mpg. After the past winter, I am hoping this vehicle performs well in the snow.

PERFECT SUV!!!

by GDuke from Jasper, AL (5/22/08)
Pros:Good gas mileage, fun to drive, comfortable, and lots of room.
Cons:Wished the doors unlocked when you put the car in park. You have to wait until you kill the engine.

I have wanted a Nissan Murano for 5 years. Little did I know that I would own a 2009 before they ever hit the dealerships. I got mine off the truck still in paper. I love it!!! I've had SUVs before and this one is PERFECT!!!! I've had it for 1 month and I can't imagine driving anything else. I will definitely keep it!

Awesome So Far!!!

by D-MAN from Ocean Springs, MS (5/21/08)
Pros:Fuel economy is decent for the size of the vehilce, the GPS is awesome, the stereo sound is unreal
Cons:So far none.

I have had my 09 for 3 weeks so far and I am enjoying it very much. I had an 06 BMW 325i, which I loved that vehicle very much but I wanted to get an SUV or Cross Over. BMW X3 and X5 is over priced. I did a great deal of research and I found the Murano to be priced just right for everything I wanted. It put's the so called luxury SUV's to shame. I purchased a Black on Black fully loaded SL and it is awesome. The voice command is great, the seat's are comfortable, it's a very quiet ride. So far I have nothing negative to say about this vehicle. I recommend if your looking for an Outstanding Cross Over then make sure you test drive the Murano, I truly think you will be very satisfied. It's the Bang For the Buck.

Best CUV out there

by Chip from New Jersey (5/20/08)
Pros:Very comfortable, fun to drive, interior w/leather has look of a car 10-15K more expensive
Cons:Still has rather large blind spot, could have made the exterior a bit more different from last model

The guy who complained about the key fob being dangerous doesn't seem like the sharpest knife in the drawer. You don't put the fob into anything unless the battery goes on you. You just have the key on your person and hit the "Start/Stop" button to start it and yes.....to stop it. This is no more dangerous an innovation than when cars went to the key about 100 years ago....you mean you have to pull the key out to stop the car? Just like when you started it? The humanity....

I really love my new Murano. I got the tech package with the xenon headlights and the back up camera and Bose speakers- love all three, particularly the last two. I passed on the navigation because at 2K it just can't be justified when you can find a portable dashboard one for $200. You don't use your nav 95% of the time, so for that 5% just pull it out of the middle console and away you go.

This car is fun to drive and reasonably quick. It is a good looking vehicle as well. I wish it was a bit easier to spot the first generation from the second, but they did have a winner on their hands. More than anything the Murano is a highly practical and super comfortable commuter and road trip car that looks better than the Acuras and as good as the Lexus Inifiniti. It certainly looks better than the Hondas and souless Toyotas. If you get the leather interior, people who get in the car without noticing the exterior will swear you have an Infiniti.

Fantastic Car

by Bobbie from Illinois (5/20/08)
Pros:Comfort, luxurious interior, GREAT to drive, and it's pretty darn good to look at!
Cons:Would have liked better gas mileage

I have been in a van for 14 years. This is my first "real" car in a long time and I couldn't be happier! I have never loved a car like I love this one. It is wonderful to drive and handles like a dream and the luxurious appointments are unlike any other cars I test drove (and that was a lot!). I loved it the minute I got in it and 2 months later I'm still loving it! I've never had a sunroof before so to get a dual sunroof is heaven. The Bose system is awesome and while the gadgets take a bit of time to learn, they are all well worth the effort!!! You will not regret purchasing this car and make sure you test drive it before buying anything else!

Great Vehicle

by D from Buffalo (5/08/08)
Pros:Great looking, good fuel economy, great technological features
Cons:none

This is a great vehicle. Don't let the previous post dismay you as it is incorrect. I also have an Infinit G35X which uses the stop/start button/Key Fob. You are not supposed to put the key fob anywhere unless the battery dies. Merely keep the key fob in your pocket and press the brake in and push the start button to start the car. To turn off the car, just press the button again. Not sure how you didn't realize the car was still running when you got out. Hmmm.
