2001 Pontiac Aztek User Reviews
- $2,310 - $3,108
- Handles with ease and is extremely quiet.

Bought this used with 127,000 miles. Joked with the salesman about its' looks, and agreed that there are many more newer cars that are far uglier that people claim these are(I think they look kind-of cool). I still cannot believe how quiet and smooth it is and how easy it is to drive(mind you, I drive a 2004 Cadillac and a 2004 Freightliner). This car can make a U-turn on our narrow street with ease. This one is loaded-up like a luxury car, and also has the tent kit with air mattress. The leather seats are still like new, and the carpeted original floormats are like new. The original wheels have been replaced with 5-spoke aluminum aftermarket wheels and 225/65 16"wheels. If you don't like the looks, take one for a drive, anyways - you will love it!...read morehide

- Good fuel economy and extremely reliable!
- None to speak of!

I have owned my Aztek since 2002. It has been a reliable, comfortable form of transportation for me and for my family for the past 8 years. It's extremely roomy, which is a plus for the larger built driver, hand handles like a dream. The turn radius is tight and makes is possible to make u-turns without fear of driving off the shoulder. When I started considering upgraging, I was totally shocked to find that Pontiak had discontuinued the model in 2006 in lieu of the Traverse, which does not measure up at all! I think that Pontiak did the driver a great disservice by discontinuing this model....read morehide

I bought my Aztek in 2001, as a program vehicle. It had 14,000 miles on it then. It now has 232,000 and running just as well as it did when I first bought it. I am a divorced mother of one son. He used it on his honeymoon to the Atlantic coast, and took his two young stepchildren and sister-in-law along. They loved all the outlets for phone charging, dvd players, etc. I drove it to Las Vegas and back, to the East Coast a couple more times, through the Smokies multiple times, to Chicago in April when there was an early spring snow! and all around Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee and Kentucky. A local dealership and the one where I purchased it are the only two shops that have done the work on it, and they have done a marvelous job. I have oil changes every 3000 miles, ignoring the recent articles that indicate that is no longer necessary. I know the car has a different look, but the headroom and fit of the driver's seat were the two deciding factors in my purchase in 2001. I had tried several models of the Jeep and Jeep Cherokee but did not like how close my head was to the roof. I am a baby boomer, so I much appreciate a vehicle that is easy to get into and out of as this one is. It is paid for, and is quite reliable, so I have not minded the times when a repair has been needed. I'm dreading the time when I might need to purchase a different car. This one I trust. Don't really understand all the hype about how it looks, because other companies sorta copied the look, modifying a couple of aspects...consider the Rendezvous. More should be considered in the rating of a vehicle than just the appearance. It has been a super car for me....read morehide

- Love the look, the interior&space, the extras, the tent! love the way it handles on the road.felt safe
- battery placement. boring colors on 2001 models

I love the bug-like look of this car. The interior is spacious and comfortable. Versatility of seats and back space is awesome! I think the red dash lights give the car personality from the usual green lights. There have been no strange or quirky problems with this car. I bought it used with 700miles on it. It has run great! The A/C blows cold and the heater works great! The radio & its secondary controls are awesome! The car is heavy, so I felt very safe when driving over causeways in Florida winds or through sudden street flooding. This is the first car I have owned out of 5, that I have loved unequivically! When the hurricanes threatened I was able to pack 2kids,3cats in carriers, a dog, and all my valuables into this car and still ride comfortably!
What I love most about it IS, it's not an SUV, it's not a mini van, it's not a car, it's not a truck....it stands in a category all it's own..It's an AZTEK!!
Wish I could get GM to give me awesome paint job, so it stands out even more! GREAT GREAT VEHICILE...read morehide
