2008 Pontiac G5 User Reviews

- Appearance, Price, Pioneer Sound System, Getti-upness
- No telescopic wheel, sm. blind spot, white faced , Sunroof size
I have driven the G5 base for about 250 miles (currently renting) and I love it. As mentioned above in Cons the non telescopic wheel is my biggest complaint. I am 6 foot tall and while the seat goes back far enough, I find my arms reaching for the wheel with the seat where I am comfortable. The Pioneer Sound System is EXCELLENT. The get up and go is very adequate for freeway merging, etc. Steering response is great. Although others have mentioned brake issues, I have found the brakes to be rather responsive, I have the opportunity to really put my foot in to the brakes and I stopped very well. Haven't noticed any accumulation of dust. The size of the sunroof could be bigger. Gas mileage currently at 36.5 highway, driving averaging 60-63 miles an hour. The fast you drive the lower the MPG. Slow down and get better mileage. I was very pleased with the large number 36.5 MPG. I have driven a 1991, 1994, 1996 Cavalier and also a 2003 Sunfire and I am pleased to say in the future a 2008 G5. Since my renting of this car I am so pleased that I am going out next week to get one. I can't wait. I have always driven a smaller car and overall I am very pleased with the G5. Mine will have On-Star, which I believe should be on all cars. What a convenient option. The navigation feature is really helpful with the directions displayed on the dash in the spot where the DIC is, on top of the voice prompts. Finally GM is getting around to producing a decent car. I like the looks of the G5 better than the Cobalt even though they are basically the same car. G5 has better looking brake lights. Very good choice for under $20,000.
