Picked it up today. Bought it earlier this week based on the previous reviews here and many others I found on Edmunds. Obviously I'm very excited (Got a Black G5, with Black leather interior, previously owned an SUV - Mitsubishi Montero Sport 2001)
I LOVE the extras here. Bought the car without trade-in for just over $19,000 and it rides like a dream. With 2 little ones (age 4 and 1) it's going to be hard to take the family out when the wife comes along because there is barely any leg room in the back (I'm 6'0). However, I bought this car primarily to take to work 40 miles away and the gas mileage I'll save will pay itself off very quickly when you start looking at over $3 a gallon costs in Atlanta.
Stereo system from the Sun and Sound package is phenomenal. The pioneer syster is FANTASTIC as well as the MP3 player. I like my music LOUD and with heavy but clear bass and this car delivers!
I also test drove the Nissan and Toyota cars of comparison and while I could've had a little more passenger room going that route, I would've spent about 5K more to get the extras equal to what I got in the Pontiac. The power sun-roof suits my mid-life crisis needs! :)
Not meaning to end on a bad note but I'm somewhat bothered by the appearance of both back wheels. The rims allow a lot of unsightly metal behind the wheels (brakes) and the rust color is visible if you're looking for it. Could be an isloated incident but I'd suggest you look for it and ask about it first.
Only 400 miles on it thus far and I need this car for the next 6-7 years. Any major problems and rest assured I'll post.
