Purchased As Used
if you want a car that allows you to drive with complete control and looks like a million dollars, this is it.
the fit and finish are, as usual, impeccable. the ride is smooth as silk with a responsiveness that is second to none. The driver fells in complete control at all times and when needed the horsepower is there to get you where you want to be. What a car!...read morehide

- Very good handling, a lot of fun, easy for everyday use, nostalgia...
Mine is a carrera S coup 997, red with beige upholstery and manual 6 speed gears. I am now 55 and since the '70s I wanted to own one. I have other cars (BMW Z4 and a Mini), but this one is the most pleasent to drive. Very good handling and general performance. Also very easy to drive everyday, even in traffic jams...read morehide

- A true sports car and still somewhat practical
- Expensive to maintain- but don't but it if you can't afford it.
I have the Carrera S Cab, 100% top of the line fully optioned high end seats/audio and everything else, 6-speed stick. My first Porsche, I have had Jag coupes and was finally ready to step up to the next level. Don't buy tiptronic- this is SPORTS CAR, if you buy tip you're better off with the new Jag coupe. I read some reviews and people mentioned price/value. DON'T BUY THIS CAR IF YOU HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE PRICE. Do it right, go high end, buy the Carrera S and load it with options. If you can't afford it, wait, save your $, and buy it later. I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS CAR. It's a BLAST to drive, I can actually squeeze my wife and kids into it (kids are 9 & 10) for shorter rides, I can easily fit my son's little league gear in the trunk, it handles like a monster, and get tons of looks from other motorists. As for speed, it's a beast once you get to know it's personality. A TRUE SPORTS CAR WITH A BACK SEAT, absolutely gorgeuous and elegant in every way....read morehide

- Ease in handling, very fast, and clasic design.
I have just traded my Porsche Boxster S for a new 911 Carerra Cab. One thing I have noticed right away was how comfortable 911 is. The Boxster S seems to handle better in cornering due to the location of the engine;hower, 911 is more stylish, excellent handling, very fast, spacious, etc. Once you get used to the high power engine, you will have no problem taking on coners at a high speed. Over all, I like both vehicals, but I would continue to buy 911 from now on., maybe 911 Turbo for a next vehical....read morehide

- Surgical precision driving response. Total control feeling. Amazing overall performance.
- Purchasing cost.
Even though is costly to buy it is not as costly to owe. The satisfaction in everyday driving compensate any sacrifice you need to make to own one of this cars. Actually there are cars and then there is a Porsche. You realized after a few hundred miles that a lot of people have put their minds together to create a pure driving machine. Is a civilized racecar while comfortable cruising GT. I even can seat 4 people for short trips if needed. Porsche has done an unbelievable job.
Highly recommended....read morehide

- Fantastic handling, compact size, good fuel economy
- Slightly firm ride, trim quality
This car is like no other, sensual in looks, the drive is a precise extension of your intended movements!! Power is adequate in the regular cab, but best driven with the revs up.
The trim can be of better quality e.g the plastic ashtray cover shows signs of wear even with the utmost care!!
Overall, a top-down drive on a warm sunday afternnon is paradise!!...read morehide

- quick, easy to drive fast, simple and easy to understand. reliable.
- practically useless rear seats, cramped cabin. pricy.
german engineering at its best. You basic 911 - if you can afford it buy the turbo.

- Classic looks, high quality, blinding performance, every day driver
- Not inexpensive to own and maintain, attracts bad drivers
Bought the base model Carrera, with minimum options, drove it straight to speed shop: installed Bilstein SS9s, wheel spacers, f/r stabilizers, struts, new induction w/ low restriction air cleaner, GEAC chip, custom headers, 100 cell cat, Gemballa mufflers, short shifter and OEM Sport Seats. Sits 1.5 inches lower than stock, otherwise no external evidence of mods. A sort of homemade Club Sport. Runs heads up with an M5 rolling start 30 to 75, no one can stay with it in a corner unless driving with F1 equipment and skills. Sounds like a jet airplane on hard acceleration, otherwise polite around town. I've owned hot iron since the 60's, from sedans with Corvette engines, race prepared Datsun 510, and more GTOs, 442s and BMWs that I want to mention. This is the best performing, best balanced and best made of them all, and a lot more fun....read morehide
