- Fast, great handling
- Naviagation (GPS) system, expensive options
I have an '07 Carrera S. Great car. I have more appreciation for the car after taking the Porsche Sport Driving Course in Birmingham at Barber Racetrack where I drove the 911 and 911s on the track. Unbelievable handling. No body roll. Solid structure.
Don't get the navigation system (over $2k). It's much worse than a Garmin and is very expensive. Also, don't get the electronically adjustable seats (over $1.5k). They add weight to the car, and are an expensive option. Manual seats are fine, especially if only one person ever drives the car. Use the money saved from the navigation and seats to get other options, such as the sports exhaust or maybe an upgrade to a 4s....read morehide

- engine sound, handling, designed for serious high speed touring
- outrageous cost of some options
This is my 5th Porsche (3 911s, 1 914, 1 Boxster). This '04 Cab is simply amazing. Pulls smoothly at almost any rpm, so user friendly that my wife is not afraid to drive it. Just enough options on it without getting crazy. Routine maintenance is going to hurt ($1,000 per axle for brakes, $1,000 for tires, $1700 for a clutch, etc.) but if you want to play with the big boys you have to pay the price. Only wish I had the $$$ to upgrade to an '05 or '06 just because of the headlight re-design....read morehide

- Good fuel economy, great torque, amazing handling and brakes
- rides rough, but good if you like the feel of driving fast
An amazing car. I have never seen better handling on any car ever, and the brakes are just as good. The shifting is a little harder than in most cars and the drive can be somewhat rough, but if you like feeling the speed and hearing the engine roar as you rev it up, this is the perfect car for you. The horsepower is not as great as amazing as you would think, but the air compression ratio is what makes this car go lightning fast. One of the coolest things I like about this car is the fact that although the overall fuel economy is not something that makes you shout for joy, the engine is used to conserving fuel if you take off full speed. Basically, you don't have to worry about punching it because you wouldn't use pretty much anymore fuel than you would gradually driving. The price is definitly high for a car in general, but it's not very high considering how great this car is. If you're a real driver who loves to punch it at every green light, having to power shift because of the huge amount of torque then this is the car for you....read morehide
