I bought my 2001 Porsche 996 twin-turbo AWD 6 spd. about two years ago and it had only 21K one-owner miles on it and it was flawless and loaded. I immediately put on a set of polished 19" CCW wheels and Pirelli P-Zero tires as well as a short-throw shifter. The car is black on black leather and now has just 25K miles and is garage kept, never driven in the rain. This car is absolutely awesome from a driving stand point, forget about the performance. Smooth, quiet and completely docile......until you get on the throttle and then you'd best be prepared to have the scenery changing in a flat hurry! The rush of acceleration is like having God himself put his hand on your chest and push......HARD! Gear after gear. it just keeps pulling until you either #$%$ yourself, crash or get pulled over and taken straight to jail! It seems the faster you go, the better it handles and it tends to give you a false sense of security, making you feel nearly invincible. It will make a good driver look great and a great driver a felon. I also have a 1986 Porsche 930 Widebody Carrera that underwent a $60,000.00+ restoration and my 996 will blow its' doors off! Best of all the 996 had a list price in 2001 of approx. $127,000.00 as delivered, and I paid under $48K for it! Best car I have ever had, bar none....read morehide
