- Good on fuel & Head Turner
Purchased As Used
Hey All Y'all Cayenne Owners..
I got a '05 Cayenne.. and let me tell you its one of my best cars (Definitely a Head Turner)....even though there are some things that need to be maintenance on.. Porsche think they're slick..They made the car in a way when have maintenance the car you cant bring it to a regular Joe Shmo mechanics..You will have to bring the car to a Porsche Dealer that charges you a arm and a leg..But there is alot of ways you can go around that..Look Online !!! see what kind of part you need..Find a specailize Porsche Mechanic..you will save your half your car bills...Make you can get High Performance parts for your vehicle so It does the best performance on the street might cost a little more but its worth it..especially the suspension..Remember there is always a few ways to skin to Katt.......read morehide

- Fun to drive when it's not in the shop...
- To many problems to list...
The CAYENNE "S" is the worst car I have ever owned... Everytime I take it for a repair there is always a recall list to do from porsche... To be fair. the Dealer has been good about loaner cars. I noticed they aren't porsche and the loaner never seems to break down... The only thing about the Dealer, was that I question. HOW THEY CAN SELL THE CAYENNE WITH A STRAIGHT FACE... I asked the dealer after one year of ownership and 6 trips for repairs How much for a trade-in... Now mind you the car had only a few Thousand miles, not one scratch or ding (Perfect) Their words. Do to the soft SUV market we can give you $38,000. I said great do to the soft SUV market can you take the 20,000. You want me to lose off the top of a new one... Ive owned this car for a couple of years bought it new and the only reason for this late review is that I had to have towed yesterday, so I'm blowing off steam... I should have written the review the first day when the first warning light came on and It took them a week fix it.. (NEVER AGAIN)...read morehide

- It is a good looker
- Rides rough and the brake accelerator conflict is dangerous
I have an on going front end problem. Between 60mph and 80mph, it vibrates the steering wheel and makes one sick. Porsche is unable to fix it. It seems to be in the drive shaft from the transfer case to the front end. I have replaced the tires twice in 30,000 miles, as it seems to grind them down real fast.
If I apply the brake and gas at the same time, the vehicle stalls and is extremely dangerous. My lady friend refuses to drive it because she feels we will get into a serious accident. Porsche refuses to address this problem. I drove a 2006 and they have modified the problem. It also affects the performance when trying to do the turns in the hills.
I cant believe Porsche made a car that stalls when you hit the brake and the gas at the same time. A racecar drive holds the gas to the floor and controls the vehicle with the brake.
How many times have you tried to get out of a tight situation and feather the gas and brake at the same time? Keep your Cayenne out of parking lots or shopping malls. You will slam it into the wall or another car when the accelerator catches after applying the brake. In the snow you wish to creep in traffic feathering the gas and brake at the same time. No way! All four busts loose and you loose traction real fast.
As Porsche suggested, I use one foot now. I slide my foot off the brake and apply the gas. It now pops through the injection system and sometime stalls as if I had my foot on the brake. The computer is unable to keep up.
If I park the vehicle for a week in the garage, then start it and try to back up, she will not move until I reeve the engine. Then it slides into gear and moves with what seems like pain.
I have a friend that has a 2004 and it is a real dog. He has had it in over eighteen times. I met a lady with a 2003 and Porsches give her new tires every 10,000 miles.
I have never had a car with so many problems....read morehide

- good performance, quick maneuverability, lock solid.
- side mirror setup sucks, side of the seat doesn't warm up.Doesn't have auto/power back door closing
I love my 2005 Cayenne S. I had my Cayenne S since 10/2004. I chose Cayenne S for the looks and good brakes. Then from the first day of driving, I was pleasantly surprised how fun it is to drive this car. I am a petite size woman, and I never thought I was getting a sports car when I chose Cayenne S. I thought I was getting a SUV. I didn't know this was a sports car, that's how dumb I was knowing about cars... I just wanted a nice SUV. I test drove every SUV, cheap to expensive. At the end I liked Cayenne, because of its solid performance, noticeably good brakes, good surround sound, and I liked the look of inside. I got Cayenne S instead of Cayenne, because when I test drove them both, Cayenne S drove smoothly than Cayenne, and of course with more power. When I got in the Cayenne, I felt safe and it seemed built very efficiently and quality built. Other SUVs, like Lexis and M.Benze, I wasn't too eager because they were like driving a van. From the very first day of driving my CayenneS, I realized that I didn't just get a SUV, but this car definately drove like a sportscar, and love it ever since. My biggest gripe is not getting a fully loaded car. Living in Florida, I should have gotten the summer pkg. My advice is to get all options. I am already thinking to get another Cayenne S with all options, next time around....read morehide

- Best driving SUV made
- Folding down the rear seat
I test drove every single SUV regardless of price and ended up with the Cayenne. It had "sports car" like feel of the road and power. Don't be fooled by it's similar looking VW cousin, they aren't alike at all. And, don't bother buying the 6 cylinder model, this baby is way too heavy for a six to power it. The "S" is just the right amount of horsepower to break any law and out run 99% of the cars on the road. I think I would be dead now if I bought the Turbo. The first few months the ride was pretty stiff. But, it got better without any loss of handling. The main gripe I have is folding down the back seat takes forever and the front seats must be moved forward. I'm 6'2" and I can't drive very long in this position, an hour or so max. This could be a real problem if you expected to go long distances using the full cargo bed. Also, what is the deal with no spare and a can of tire inflating/patch. I mean eventually ever driver has a bad gash on a tire, right? It will be tow truck time for sure and not every tow truck is equipped to handle the complexities of a Porsche....be sure to read the manual...carefully. Ok, these things aside, this is a fun, cool, car that is fast and gets a lot of attention even here in California where Porsches are plentiful....read morehide

- Only pro is it's looks.
- Rough ride, rust and fog in lights.
This is by far the worse vehicle I have ever owned. Where's the spare!! Great when you're out in the middle of nowhere and wife is alone with children! She had to walk 2 miles, wait 1 hour and then vehicle had to be put on a flatbed and brought to a garage to repair flat. And this from a Porsche! Why doesn't vehicle have OnStar or something similar? Already rusting (always in the garage and only 8,000 miles) Was so dissatisfied traded in after 7 months for another Mercedes. Mercedes you have a lifetime customer!!...read morehide

- Great performance and safety. Rain, Rivers, Snow or hills will not stop you.
- Poor fuel economy, the outside frame deteriorates fast. It does need better brakes.
The most powerful engine in any SUV in the US. Great handling and performance. Needs wheel alignment too often, more or less every 10,000 miles!.
