Overall, this SUV is awesome to drive, light to handle and easy to drive. This is my 4th Porsche and I prefer to drive this SUV daily than my GT3. I just wish it drinks less gas! $500.00 on gas every month is no easy budget.

In China, people has to wait for 15 months to get a Cayenne and in a addition, you will pay three times more money than American pays for a Cayenne.

IMO, this is the best SUV I have owned to date. I have been a BMW fan for year and recently traded my '07 X5 for the Cayenne. This vehicle run circles around the BMW with regard to performance and handling.

My husband just bought me the "S" version after I insisted I wanted a Mercedes....What was I thinking....The Porsche is in my opinion the best car on the road....I love love love it!!!
There aren't many of them around so you don't feel like you bought it at a fire sale....it's beautiful inside and out....
In my 42 years of owning cars this went to the top of my list as my all time favorite.....Don't even hesitate to buy one!...read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

Talking apples to apples. I have had (not just test drove) a BMW X5, Cadillac SRX, Lexus RX 450h and Lexus GX 460. Hands down, my Porsche Cayenne S is the best all around SUV out there right now and for many years to come. Porsche started out late in the SUV business, but with this latest version of the Cayenne they have moved to the top of the ever crowded field of luxury and/or performance SUVs. I dare anyone out there to go out and test drive a Cayenne and tell me that another SUV is ALL AROUND better. Now, of course, all of this comes with a price. Porsche charges for everything (yes, even for the steering wheel). For me to give 5 stars for value, it would have to priced at between $60K to $70K and not the extra $25K that I paid on top of the base....read morehide

Everything on this car is awesome. I dropped off my 08 Cayenne S for routine maintenance and got a 2011 Cayenne base model as a loaner car. It was only a block away and I learned how to use all the electronics on the car, so easy to use, they are on par with the Japanese. the car is so lively, agile, easy to drive, stable and confident on the highway, 100+ mph through turns on the hwy are a piece of cake. my old 08 is no match, the people who redesigned it really designed it very thoroughly. I had many brands before, even the best had some very minor issues. But this new Cayenne is like God read my mind. OMG... I only have one recommendation, the V6 is already awesome, but it could be even made quieter. I figure if the 8 speed is coming from Aisin( I bet most of you don't know that the 8 speed tranny is made by Aisin in Japan. Aisin is owned by Toyota. ) Why not get a V6 engine from them too, just size and hp it to Porsche's requirements just like the 8 speed. I hope this will happen when this model is ready for the mid cycle refresh. Also, it should have more standard equipment such as xenon lights like the X5 to stay even more competitive....read morehide

I wanted to get a car that there's not a lot around. I don't want to go somewhere and like 10 of the exact same cars in the lot. That's not going to happen if you own Porsche.
I love Porsche. I just got the car 2 months ago. I waited over 5 months for this car. Totally understandable. It's not a car the you see around a lot. I had no problem waiting. You actually have to order the car from Germany because they made to order in my case because need many special additional options in the car.
At first, I thought of getting a Turbo then I think there's no place to drive in NY, NJ (speed limit on highway is like 55-65) and with this 300 hp and 400 lbs lighter in New 2011 model..this car can really move..300hp is more than enough. Top it of that I only drive 5-10 miles per day. That'd be enough for a girl like me.
I realized most people don't understand how much the car cost because they only look at the MSRP and they think wow $47,000..I can own this car...OMG.. Are you joking? Oh no no no..I wanted to tell those people that you haven't add anything to the car yet. Go to the dealer and they will tell you all about it.
I got the car with premium package plus keyless entry (they call Porsche entry and drive). It comes with everything you need and more. End up paying approximately $70,000 before tax but well worth it.
Before getting Cayenne, I used to own Mercedes R350 2005 but it's not comparable with the Cayenne. I look like a soccer mom with that car. Especially when I'm in my 20's, R350 wasn't right for me. Mercedes R350 was a good car but nothing like Cayenne. My husband drives an Audi Q5 3.2 Premium quattro Tiptronic. I love that car too but I love Cayenne even more. The Audi is kinda giving you more like a sporty/rough ride. At least..to me. But my husband loves it.
The ride for Cayenne is so smooth and fun to drive with 8-speed triptronic. I love the handling. When you get into the car is like you're in the different world. Very nice design and setting. I like to small monitor on the driver side so you don't need to look at the main monitor when you're driving. I have the premium package with heated steering wheel, 4 heated seats, blinds for 2 side rear windows, BOSE system, external camera, park assist, power tailgate, bluetooth, homelink, USB ports, ipod/iphone integration etc.
Exterior and interior design are way better than the old Cayenne.
I'd recommend this Cayenne to anyone. And my next car could be the Porsche Panamera..I like that car too!...read morehide9 out of 9 people found this review helpful.
