My second Saab, been a fan since the 90s. Love this car and am even more passionate about it since the bankruptcy debacle. Keep hoping for a miracle to keep the Saab legacy alive. The car is a head turner, fun to drive, comfortable. Not the fanciest car but has a solid, reassuring interior and comforts. I love it. I highly recommend it even without the factory warranty (although I bought one after the ECU went out just in case something else drops). Find a good Saab dealership -- some of them are out to rip you off!...read morehide

I have owned the 2010 2.0T for about six months now. It is my daily driver, and I love driving it. I put the top down all the time (I live in FL), and so to me it is totally worth the extra money for the convertible version. When the top is down the truck space is quite a bit smaller, but with the top up the trunk is much bigger than you expect when looking at the car from the outside.
This car really goes when you step on it. Because it is front wheel drive you lose steering capacity a little bit as the nose lifts up under hard acceleration. I can't see much point in any more power unless you have rear wheel drive; for a front wheel drive the 2.0T is pretty much maxed out power wise.
The back seat is tight for adults, but I can put my 4 year old behind me in a Britax Frontier 85--the booster installed easily to the available tethers and also he still has foot space when the driver's seat is adjusted to suit me (I'm 5'5). I think if the front driver and passenger are tall then the back seat is really not usable, but for small/medium size people it can still work as a 4 seater.
I get about 26 MPG average doing mixed driving. On the highway it gets about 30, and around town around 20, mine is automatic.
I got this car new, it had a big dealer discount at the time I purchased. I think full price ($44K) it was too much, but with discounts definitely a fair deal and I am really happy with the car. Thus far, very reliable and no problems or issues....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Handles like a dream
- Cons
- Front wheel drive only on the convertable

I compared the like-styled and priced Mercedes and BMW class cars to the 9-3 convertable. While the Saab 9-3 convertable is about $5,000 more expensive comparatively optoned (mine listed at $44,000) it is worth every penny. Better ride, performance and style. The 2.0 liter turbo charged motor is deceptively fast. And, It is just a flat out good looking car. I was almost swayed by wanting a "Mercedes" mainly for name status, but am very glad I went with the Saab. Every bit if not higher quality craftsmanship....read morehide
