- Dangerous AWD, clunky GM V8, finnicky auto climate control
My wife choose the 9-7x, I had choosen the Volvo XC90, she won. I tried to explain to her that this vehicle is a GMC Envoy/ Chevy Trailblazer but she was not buying it. Beware, this SUV is a ENVOY/ TRAILBLAZER and that means it comes with the all the cheap interior trimmings, low hanging exhaust and the worst part is the terrible AWD. This system is NOT, I repeat NOT on all the time, it simply cannot seem to engage until slipping and spinning is well underway. That means that you will sit at the stoplight and spin the rear wheels for what seems like an eternity before you feel the AWD engage. I dont know what this kind of system is suppose to accomplish other than not preforming like AWD is suppose to work! So, after 20,700 miles we are giving the 9-7X to our local Volvo dealer and driving home an XC-90 V8. Spend 10 minutes driving the XC90 and you will feel that this is a very different vehicle, much more solid and composed. BEWARE!
