Fun and functional. I have had the car about 3 weeks now. Four days after I bought it we got over a foot of snow and before they could even get our back country roads clean we get another seven inches. The AWD was my hero. Several years ago I was in a bad accident on ice that involved 7 cars. I had not had the confidence to drive in Michigan weather is 5 years, until now. After making my way through the snow of our recent storms safely and securely in my Forester my confidence is restored. It is a new freedom that I have not had in years. I no longer have to plan my days around the weather during 5 months of the year.
The bonus, the cargo room and the responsive manual trans makes this car an excellent buy for busy people. 2 adults, 2 kids, a dog, a 40 lb. bag of dog food, 2 duffle bags of soccer gear and a load of laundry... and I can still beat most cars off the line....read morehide

- nimble, visibility, fit and finish
- rear seat leg room, tan interior
Third subaru, first forester wanted something that rode abit higher than the legacy wagons we had owned. Merging into traffic is now fun. Love the visiblity when sitting in the front seat.

- Easy to handle, stabe,
See very often Forester in my neighborhood.
So I went to a dealer and test-drove one.
I decided immediately.
I drove several sedans. These cars were very
stlylish, sporty, but I had hard time, when parking,
to get a grasp of how long or big my car were.
Very easy to get an idea how far-reaching the car is.
Also I like height of seats. Easy to get in and out.
After renting a car in trip, I am always eager to go
back to my Forester....read morehide

- No trim specified for this review
- handles well, good brakes, good radio, good visibility, driving position
- engine hesitates badly in hot weather, rattles in dash and from back
Becoming the worst car I ever had. Engine hesitates for 3 or 4 seconds in hot weather especially with the AC on - hesitates less now that the weather has cooled down, but if you step on it it still hesitates and if you have the defroster on it hesitates because the AC runs. Supposedly Subaru is aware of the problem but I was told it could be months before there is a fix. The headliner creaks, there is a rattle in the dash and several rattles in the rear. The newest quirk it has is that intermittently, the throttle maintains the last setting when you take your foot of the gas. In other workds if you are going 40 or 60, for instance, and take your foot off the gas, the car maintains the same speed as if you had the cruise control on. No word from the dealer as yet as to what the problem might be. This latest situation makes me apprehensive to ever drive the car....read morehide

- 230hp family wagon, styling updated so much less 'frumpy' than '05
- Rear seat legroom can be tight if front passengers are tall
Lots and lots of power from this engine. Quiet ride and very good handling/braking make this a lot more fun to drive than any other small SUV/wagon we looked at. A must drive for anyone looking in this category, especially with Subaru's fantastic CR showing factored in.

- Good fuel economy, roomy, nice interrior, safety, smooth ride, huge moon roof
- Arm rest could be bigger
I love my new Subaru! I considered and test drove a Honda CRV and Toyota Rav4. I chose the Forester because I thought the interrior was better and more comfortable, I loved the way it handled and I felt very safe and secure. I love the way the back seats fold down to give you more room without the hassel of removing them like the Rav4 or folding them forward like the CRV. This is the best vehicel I've ever owned. I look forward to many years of hassel free driving....read morehide

- Good fuel economy,28 mpg hwy. Beautiful interior and new look, LLBean model
- When I pick it ,the engine thermometer was not working. But it was fixed. Not a big deal.
The only thing that I could is that the interior biege color could easily get dirty. And if you want to get one of these try the black cloth or the leather biege color, its because leather could be cleaned easily .or else if you'll get the biege cloth interior, within a month the interior of your car is look like wearing a mascara. That's why I got the LLBean model.Besides that, leather is more durable and executive look.Another thing is Subaru is AWD standard. This is very important specially to those people living in the North. And better fuel economy specially again that gas at this time is too high,28 mpg is not bad compared to some SUV which is consuming a lot of gas.Wether you agree me or not, I am only telling the reality....read morehide
