2007 Subaru Forester
There are 3 user reviews for the 2.5 XT Limited trim shown below
- handling, roominess, lack of body roll, responsiveness, interior comfort, sound system
- minor interior rattles on rough roads, road noise at highway speeds, fair to poor gas mileage
I never owned a Subaru until my wife and I bought an Outback to replace our 2002 Honda Accord (totalled by my 18 yo son : ( ). We liked our outback so much that when we began shopping for another car - we looked at the Impreza and the XT Limited (local dealer had a loss leader 2007 on special). Like the Impreza alot - when I drove the XT and saw the price I could buy it at (superbowl sunday special), I snapped it up - and have been very pleased with the purchase. I never even considered a Forester until I saw this car - very sedate and sterile looking - like something a grandma would drive. The XT Ltd is the polar opposite - as my kid would say, it's "tight". Handles beautifully, looks sharp and has great comfort (except back seat for adults - not too roomy; but what do I care - I don't ride back there!). Subaru fit and finish is by and large surprisingly good - except minor (although annoying) rattles here and there (not on my outback, though, it is bullet-proof). Winter package with heated seats etc is a nice option for winters in Oregon - I would be nit-picking to say anything negative - I don't understand why you don't see more of them on the road - I love mine!...read morehide

- Great engine; well appointed interior; reliable; stable; well built.
- Not the prettiest SUV around; dealers are not very professional
I love my 2006 Forester XT. The Subaru boxer engine is the best around; no shortage of passing power on the highway. Off-road manners are decent but not for extreme conditions. Inside comfort is good, leather seats are comfortable, climate control works well and the sunroof is HUGE. Lots of little compartments to put things in, but does not look cluttered. Steering is easy but very well connected with the road. Sticks to road like glue while cornering. No complaints, really. Highly recommended vehicle....read morehide

- Speed, Speed, Speed... Fastest thing out there in SUV (5.7 sec 0-60)
- Need to get use to the AWD & a bit of road noise when driving high speeds
I did the homework before buying this car... Trust me I did not think of buying this car when i first started looking at cars. I had more in mind of a SAAB, Cadillac, BMW, or Yukon cars because they look freaking awesome. But came to find out many of the cars i was looking at did not come on the top 13 safest cars and/or the top 10 most reliable. Which to me was important, because I have a young daughter and planning to keep the car for at least 10 years (needs to be reliable).
I wasnt too impressed with the style of the Forester X, until i saw the Forester XT Limited. The appearance is day and night. Its amazing how much a car can change when you add leather, 17" rims, and a nicer interior to a car. That did not sell me, until i actually drove the turbo car is what did it. The Forester can move! On my test drive I did close to 100 mph and tried to race everything out there. The salesman wasnt too happy, but who cares... They get paid for that! I did not buy the one i tested, instead I got another (Automatic) one with only 17 miles on it.
The car drives nice and highly recommend it. One thing you need to get use to is the AWD. Because the ride is a bit different... it feels like the tires are grapping the road (good thing). It not a bad thing, but something to note if you test drive one.
My only complaint is i which the car did not have any road noise... Something like a Cadillac or those fancy Lexus that come out on the commercials... The road noise is not bad, but again if i had to complain it would have to be the road noise driving over 80 mph. My salesman told me it will be much quiter after i get over 1,000 miles (dont know how true that is)...
