I researched forever before narrowing it down to 2 vehicles. The Mazda cx5 and the subaru forester. Both were so close it was hard to pick between the two. But once we drove the XT model, the decision was quite easy. I think both 2014 models are great but you really have to drive and find which one feels best for you. I think subaru has done a great job refining some of the things that made previous foresters such great vehicles. The visablity is better than any other small suv on the market. The XT model performance is great and has dummy proof paddle shifters for those who like to play a little bit. The paddle shifters can simulate a 6 or 8 speed transmission. Really hate CVT vehicles, but the XT model you barely notice. The AWD system also lets you feel confident in all driving situations. If you are in the market for a small suv that does everything well this should be one of the top 3 to look at. If you want one with a little bit more power the XT model will satisfy.
