- kills fuel pump @ 155mph, a bit rough and noisy, REAR spoiler
The 2005 sti is a thrill. I recommend the black pearl w/ gold wheels. These two colors really look mean and aggressive. Turbo already has the capabilities to put out more than 300hp. Just have to find the chip. Not to expensive... and it will put you around 400hp if thats what your looking for. Let alone the exterior, the interior is also a head turner. Nice stereo, although I opted for an amp, sub, and two rear dash speakers. Oh, and tinted the windows out. Go for the performance gauge package also. Having only a clock on the front dash is too cheesy for a car like this. The short throw shifter is also a recommendation. Dislikes: rear spoiler is a bit big for me, and sometimes the car pulls back and forth when slowing to a stop. I believe this is the awd sytem and sticky tires. By the way, my rear tires are worn right out @ 10,000 miles. Could it be the cookies and drifting? Yes, but I gaurantee for the amount of playing around I do, and the amount you should do, these tires should last a bit longer for $200+ a piece. The car cuts fuel at 155mph. Thats as fast as you'll get her at stock. But she wants to keep on going. Whats up with that?(Tire ratings, liability issues) If it were up to me Id let her spread her wings and see 165MPH+ because she would do it. Altogether, this car is a dream. If you test drive a wrx, test the sti next. Its like night and day. For around an extra $150 a month(insurance is what stops many people) its a no brainer. Stay safe out there, and try to keep up!!!!
