- Dependablility, Acceleration, Looks, AWD
- Headliner, Turbo Lag, Windshield, Wipers
This car is the best car a person in their early 20's can own, if they decide to own a car rather than a truck or SUV. Gas mileage is decent, AWD makes this vehicle more dependable than most other cars in its class, and the turbocharger makes this car fun to drive at all times. I have had this car for 9 months now and I still love it like the first day I drove it off the car lot.
Some negatives would be the headliner is very tacky and ugly, some would say it looks like the same material that McDonalds makes their cup holders out of. The turbo is fine once you get going, but the first few seconds of acceleration can be a bit laggy. The windshield seems very thin to me...very easy to crack/chip. The wipers that Subaru puts on these WRX's are very bad...they freeze up in the winter and you need to get out of the car to bend them in order to keep them shaped to the windshield. The paint job seems to be a little thin as well.
Even with these negatives, I can easily say that every car has their drawbacks, and if this is all the WRX has for drawbacks, then this car is in the top of its class. It handles like a BMW 3series, accelerates like a Mittsubishi Lancer EVO, and need I mention this car is known as the "Cadillac" of Rally Racing.
Go out and test drive this beauty, you won't regret it!...read morehide

- excellent AWD system, handling, fast
- some turbo lag
Prior to this car I had two acuras. This is definitely the most enjoyable car I have ever driven. It's a beast when you want to have fun, yet makes an excellent commuter. Highly recomended.

- accelaration, handling, easy to modify, practical
- fuel economy not too good if driven hard
this is the best car I have ever owned period. I've owned eclipses my whole life 94 gsx, 97 gs-t and 02 gt. this car kills all of them in every performance category and is more practical than any of them. when the weather gets bad it doesn't bother me too much because of all wheel drive. If your into modifying your car (not like you need to) this is the car for you. there are tons of parts available and the car reacts well to mods. $2000.00 or so and it will outhandle and out accelerate almost anything under $40k....read morehide

- Super fast, good fuel economy, and very easy to maintain
- No leather option, paint chips, clutch is undersized for the horsepower. NO folding rear seat!
I've owned all kinds of cars in my life and this one is still one of my favorites. I've now spent over $3000 in aftermarket parts and the car is now over 300HP. The cool thing about the 2.0 liter compared to the 2.5 liter, is it seems to be more reliable. In Europe, Australia and Japan they mod out the 2.0 liter with over 500hp and the engine still runs at that amount, thats amazing. So the question is; why dont they use the 2.5 liter? I dont have a exact answer but I'm sure they do... As for me I love this car. Its under the radar enough that the COPS leave me alone. I seem to get about 22 mpg and I dont drive like a girl. The car likes to be driven hard, in fact that is where it shines the most. I've owned the car for 3 years now (longest I've ever owned a car) and I've never had a problem. If you can spend a few bucks I'd recommend you do so.
Cons: The clutch is undersized for the horsepower, but don't replace it until it runs out.
The paint on the WRX is really weak, you will see rock chips, but no big deal.
The car needs more fit and finish, but what do you expect when you buy a rally car.
In conclusion the WRX is a great car, But careful if your buying one for a teenager. Though I guess the built in role cage will help when they get into accidents....read morehide

- ample power! lightning handling! great value! all the standard features you need!
- supreme fuel, synthetic oil
This is the best car you can buy for the money. Go find a fast car with AWD, four doors, nimble handling, excellent safety ratings and great gas mileage (20/27.)
If you can even find another car with all those features look at the price! The WRX is the best value you can get! If you are buying one new, make sure there are minimal miles on it because the 1000 mile break in period is crucial to future engine performance and longevity.
Dont take it over 4000rpm for the first 1000 miles and let the engine (specifically the turbo,) warm up and cool down, with about 40 sec of idiling, when starting and shutting off the engine. After 1000 miles, you will then be ready to dominate! Although these are reliable and durable vehicles, know what you are doing if you are considering purchasing a used one. These cars are FUN to drive HARD and people, (and their friends,) have a good time with these before they trade them in or sell them.
Also, this is a driver's car. Many of the awesome features will be lost on ameteures. The clutch pressure is a little hard (to handle the torque,) and some may find it uncomfortable. This car is fast and can hang turns. Non enthusiasts may never even explore this; A WASTE!
Overall this vehicle is the best combination of practicality, with AWD, 4 doors, good gas mileage and great safety ratings and performance, with acceleration, power to spare, and handling, styling and breaking. In short; THIS VEHICLE IS FAST, FUN, RELIABLE, SAFE, AND A GREAT VALUE!...read morehide

- super fun to drive. reliable (28k, NOTHING WRONG). 28mpg hwy actual
- fussy manual tranny. needs split rear seat. no rack for sedan. thin paint
my first new car (2004 model) so firstly, no warranty or repairs otherwise despite hard driving. this car is competitive stock in autocross racing, and with some cheap aftermarket parts is dominant. If you want a racer, get a STi, the $6,000 is well worth the mechanical upgrades everywhere. But I'm glad I got the WRX as it goes on 3,000m mile treks with enough comfort, gets better mileage, has great winter handling. Overall, a great car I will probably keep for 10+ years....read morehide

- Great Power, and a great platform
- Stock Tires can not keep up with this car.
The WRX in stock form is great. It handles well, it has plenty of power, and it really doesnt look that bad. One aspect of the car that some people never discover is how capable the chassis is with just a few tweaks. New tires and some suspension mods turn it into a true performance vehicle. I drive this car at Buttonwillow, and the car is right at home going 80+mph through long sweepers, or 40+ through tight technical sections. The harder you drive the car, the more rewarding the results. I can race this car on the track, then go get groceries. And still impress my parents with a compliant ride....read morehide

- Quality of interior/ handling/ performance
- Turbo Lag, that's about it
Its the best car for the price. If you want to pull chicks get a BMW, but if you want everyone else checking your ride out, WRX is the place to be!

- handles, handles, handles
- rear seats are a bit tight
just got this car. drives and handles like a dream. i wasn't too fond of the look, but it grows on you. what can i say about the engine, the car flatout flies on the road. turbo is great (despite the lag) anything over 3000rpm it is soooo fun to drive. great value for the money. can't wait to take it to the snow....read morehide

- Performance! Handling! 4-Door Rocket. Rally bred.
- Lugs under 3000 K rpm. Paint quality is not so good-scratches easily
I have wanted this car for 3 years...Finally have one. It was worth the wait. It is so fun, we rally it, take it on trips. It's even great on back roads where you would never think to take a normal car (back road to Big Bear). The all wheel drive is really confidence inspiring. Handles great. I would like to see any other 25K handle, and perform as well as the WRX....read morehide
