2006 Subaru Impreza User Reviews
WRX Limited Sedan shown
- $7,827 - $18,069
- fuel economy, ride comfort, quietness, overall ,mechanics
I owned a 2002 2.5 and this is a step up in workmanship. The doors are tighter, the ride is smoother, and the tranny and engine seem to work together.

- Awesome acceleration, handling, braking. Good price.
- Little rough and noisy. Front bumper needs redesigning.
The 2006 wrx sedan is simply amazing performance wise. This thing just flys the second you press the gas. Take off is amazing. I reved up to 6000 rpms and dropped the clutch and it just took off with very little spin. That rear LSD was a brillant idea. Little turbo lag in the lower rpms, but when your pushing it thru the entire powerband, no where it will disappoint. Excellent handling with the awd and the braking is strong also. A+ performance wise for this kind of price.
The interior seems a little plain. Seating is enough for 4, the back seats could use a little more room for longer drives. However at least you can fit 4 people compared to coupes that leave almost no space at all.
The exterior though, I was disappointed with the first bumper. The older stlye was much better. Otherwise, it still looks alright. Definitely has a sleeper touch, and will surprise a few ignorant tuners that never heard of a wrx (who hasnt though).
Overall I was very impressed. For 25,000 you can get a great performance sedan that is also functional for other purposes besides performance....read morehide

- Speed, handling, AWD
- Ride issues, back issues
What an amazing little ride for the money. I got a $200 a month lease, and it's off to the races. This car accelerates as fast as you need, handles with speed on the corners, brakes, it's really an amazing little car. I have two issues with it. The ride is a little rough -- I can live with that -- but just a bit "bouncy" in my sedan. A little residual bounce. We'll see if I adjust to it or down the road it's annoying. I haven't read this in any other reviews, so maybe it's just me or my particular car. 2nd issue is the seats are kind of rigid, and my back has been sore. We'll have to see if this is my back muscles adjusting to the pitch of the seats or whether there's a longer term problem here. Of course it's small but I think that goes without saying. I'm only 5-foot-6 and find it plenty roomy, but there isn't much rear seat leg room. If you love AWD and you want value, you should check out this car...read morehide

- many standard features, nice acceleration, AWD
- back seat small (not really for adults in rear)
Nice fit and finish. Well made. Nice paint (black). Great acceleration. Looks very sporty with rear spoiler.

- You will become so attached to this car's performance, you will take a night job to pay for any fuel
- This car is a high performance race car, if you want to experience that you cant have luxury
I researched this car for two years before my purchase. I have owned other cars such as BMW M3, M5, M Roadster, Porsche Cayenne Turbo, none of which reach the fun factor of the STI. This car continues to exceed my expectations, to the point that I am depressed when not behind its wheel. This car does not need to be sold to anyone, all that has to happen is for anyone to get in its driver seat, and the rest is history. If you are looking for a car that is 1/4 the price of the big name sports cars but packs just as much or more of a rush THIS IS THE CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...read morehide

- Awd, new 2.5 turbo engine, bigger and better brakes
- No remote trunk release
I went from an '04 auto to an '06 auto and all I can say is WOW! I had tons of turbo lag in the '04 and so far I only notice very little turbo lag with the new engine in the '06, Subaru should have put in the bigger engine a long time ago.

- Can't Beat the performance and practicality for around $30,000
- Bouncy ride...but its a race car, not a luxury sedan.
There is no other car I would rather have for the money. Has the performance of a car twice its price, plus its a sedan, so you can fit multiple passengers (and a couple of golf bags in the trunk). Couldn't be more happy with my STi!

- power, cornering and absolutely great with the all wheel drive
- wish it had even more power
I had a 2005 wrx and now I have a 2006 wrx. It's like 2 different cars.
The 2006 is smooth and faster then the 2005 and much more fun to drive.
