- highest quality smallest mid_format car running on snow.
- some push on stopping. engine noise & a little offspeed on 120Km.
The car is come with full tank of oil, I fully test it on all speed;Cons happen. When the tank was almost empty I changed to 91 ot. oil (gasoline). It become car of another level! No push! silent when acc. over 120 Km.
I thank due to the high compression rate of 10 the computer has adjust BTDC to prevent rocking that cause push on stopping. Please submit more test results for this SUPER SUBARU ENGINE!!!...read morehide

- AWD, 173 HP, solid handeling, great brakes
- cheap interior
Great car for the price - lots of cargo space, decent sound system [premium sound w/satelite], good performance for the price. 18-24 year-olds will think you are cool...

- Good fuel economy and power, wagon availability for outdoor use.
- Very hard to put in reverse when the engine is off, turning radius is too wide.
I have owned identical 2006 for 1.5 years. Overall I am pleased with the purchase. I need wagon/hatch back for outdoor use and have to live with 25 miles/galon overall. I wish I could get 30 miles/galon overall. I have manual transmision and shifting is not that good, especially putting in reverse gear when parking. I used to drive Nissan 240 SX 1989 and 1990 and it was much nicer. Another stupid thing is the fuel filter is somewhere in the gas tank which I still do not know how to access. The dealer could rob me 200 bucks for that thing.
I really like some of you guys' comments like switching to 2 wheel drive to save gas and sound system can be better .... but remember this car's price is still low. I paid about 17K for the special edition. VW GTI is about 23K and I don't think it will outlast Impreza.

- Good power for the money; nice looking. Base model with enough "stuff".
- Head rest a but too forward but a back pillow helped that situation. Needs a better sound system.
I was looking for cargo space, price, good looks and decent gas mileage and didn't expect to find it at the Subaru dealership. On a whim I went there and came out with the Impreza sport wagon. There was one salesman at Subaru; twelve salespeople at Honda. I was sold, in part, by the relaxed and no-pressure atmosphere of the Subaru dealership. Really sold by the power and 4-wheel drive of the Subaru. Drives very well. I need to drive it more to check the fuel economy....read morehide

- Good looking interior, quick off the line, handles well
- Transmission is jerky, excessive road noise, no dome lights/trunk lights, budget sound system
I have the 5 speed version of the Impreza Wagon. This is a tight little car with good handling and acceleration. Where this car lacks is in the details. Other than power everything, there are virtually no amenities that would not be available on every car on the market. What I found particularly annoying was the lack of adequate lighting in the cabin. Not even a trunk light! The sound system is pretty budget- in fact I had FAR superior system on a Kia Spectra that I drove! I replaced the stereo head unit immediately, as Subaru decided that the would put a Aux cable in every other one of there cars except for the basic Impreza. This car is VERY jerky if you choose to engine brake, which I used to do all the time until I bought this car. Hopefully this problem will smooth out once the car is broken in further.
Aside from all the small things, I believe this car is a fairly good value. I think the AWD will come in handy when winter sets in. The car is AWESOME on dirt roads as well, which we have a lot of up here in VT. I recommend that Subaru include the option to TURN OFF the AWD in the future. We could all save some good money on gas (and reduce pollution) that way. The new Suzuki AWD has this feature, but I'm afraid the Subie still has that one beat....read morehide

- Great Traction in the snow. Safe. Reliable
- Cheap Interior, Bad Radio, Bad Speakers, Skinny Seats, Noisey Engine, Sloppy gear shift
Great car for winter months if you dont travel long distances on the highway. If you ever have to take long trips leave this car behind. Get a rental. The seats that are so supportive and hold you in place during fast curves will become real unfortable after an hour of driving. The growling Boxer engine which is so pleaseing on short trips will annoy you when you have to cruise at above 70mph. And the lousey factory radio and speakers will really make you want to end the journey. Bottom line, it is a very unrefined car. Highschool kids who like racing around will love it...but for anyone else, there are better choices like the VW jetta....read morehide

- AWD, people who have never owned this car think you are driving a sweet ride.
- engine shakes, not enough power, VERY SLOW manual transmission, rough ride, cheap interior, noisy
DO NOT BUY THIS CAR. Save yourself the trouble of owning a piece of junk that you will hate driving. The car is small, cheap and ridiculously uncomfortable. Ride is very very rough. Engine shakes when idling to the point that it makes passengers dizzy. Just horrible. Dealer service is below reasonable. Said that the engine problem is "normal" and "all subuarus have that issues. BS!
The only thing good about the car is the AWD, or the fact that its there....read morehide

- handling in the snow, amazing control, power and acceleration, comfort.
- summer wipers need changing if purchased in the winter!
I LOVE my new car. I can't believe how amazing it is in the snow. I've been sliding around in various cars over the last 17 years of driving in terrible Montreal winters, getting stuck almost everywhere and being unable to climb steep hills. Needless to say, I was BLOWN AWAY by the symmetrical AWD's performance. I had fun pulling out of snowed-in parking spots on the street (effortless, like driving a ski-doo), laughing in amazement. No need to shovel. The seats are super comfortable because they offer lower back support. The acceleration and performance are great (I've been used to having lots of power with my former 1990 BMW and wanted the same in a new car). Handling is amazing... you really feel it when turning corners. Fuel economy is good. A full tank of gas lasted 300 km. Visibility is also great. Above all, it's also good to know that you're driving one of the safest cars on the road.
My brother is a "mustang" guy, and he "test-drove" my car on the back "snowy" roads in the country. He was super impressed... and TOTALLY jelous!...read morehide

- Sporty feel, 27.7mpg average on an AWD
- Back seat leg room, have to down shift for hills
This car is great for my family. I spent the first week I owned this car driving through the rocky mountains in the snow. Since then we have also had two major snow storms here in Colorado and I have passed dozens of abandoned SUV's. Clearance is the only issue in the snow. Pickup is good, just remember it's not the WRX and you won't be disappointed. The base model is a little stingy. It doesn't come with map lights, a cargo light or the cross rails for the roof rack. I also replaced the stock radio ASAP. On a high note this little car has a 2000lb towing capacity, standard antilock brakes and Airbags. Subaru is great!!...read morehide
