Loving my new Impreza Hatchback. It is the perfect city and handles NYC "Imperfect" roads like a champ. THe MPG I have been seeing is in the 25 MPG in very tough city driving which I call a plus. Had 1 tank go to 35MPG when mixed in mostly highway. I love the saftey and handling especially in messy weather. The hatchback version is extremely versatile and handles any task easily.
I will say the engine noise and CVT are a bit more than other cars in the class, but it is not at all a major nuissance. Overall the car has been just awesome....read morehide1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Decent rear leg room, Decent fuel economy for AWD
- Cons
- Poor Ground clearance, interior design, Noise, driver headroom.

Overall the Imprezza 5 door has some nice points. It handles well and seems to be mechanically sound. However, although it does get good fuel economy, even with a very soft pedal, the onboard computer says I get about 24 city, 35 straight hwy, and 26 combined, a little less than the 27/36 & 30 combined the sticker shows. Not including that the onboard computer always shows 1 or 2 MPG higher than what I calculate at fillups. My main complaint is the very LOW ground clearance and lack of standard roof rails. My last car was an AWD Pontiac Vibe. Unfortunately it got crushed by a tree during hurricane sandy, but it had 8.1" of ground clearance compared to the 5.7" of the imprezza, not good for fairly deep snow. Prepare to take driveway and parking lot entrances slowly, as the front tends to scrape the steeper ones. The center armrest design also leaves alot to be desired. I had to take what was in stock, which was slim pickings on Long Island NY after the hurricane, as I had been without a car for 5 weeks. If I could do it again, I wouldnt go with the imprezza hatchback, I would wait and go with the Subaru crostrek, it's the imprezza, with larger 17" wheels, SUV like body molding, 8.7" of ground clearance, and roof rails for slightly more money....read morehide

- Pros
- Handles VERY well, plenty of cargo space, comfy and confident ride.
- Cons
- No cruise control on base model but it's no major flaw and can probably be added later.

I LOVE my Impreza. I purchased just before hurricane Sandy hit my town in NJ and the AWD was awesome in the sand on the barrier islands and the light snow/slush a few weeks after. The MPG is pretty good, 5-speed manual and I'm averaging 29 with mostly city with little highway, but jumps to 34 with all highway driving. $30 to fill from 1/4 tank, LOVE. Bluetooth works well with my Galaxy and speakers sound pretty good. Cup holders in all 4 doors holds my 1L water bottle comfortably (it fits well it the middle but kinda gets in the way when shifting). Acceleration is pretty quick, handling feels firm and confident. The red interrior lights are a very nice touch and everyone who steps in compliments it.
Added note: Top mounted oil filter makes oil changes a breeze. 4 wheel disc brakes looks and performs amazingly. This car makes me want to take road trips to the mountains. After purchasing my new Impreza, I received a catalog in the mail about meets and charity events sponsored by Subaru, (not sure if any other car manufacturer does this) I went to a few and I have met people from all over the country and a few from Europe....read morehide0 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

Good sedan. More power than 2013 Nissan Sentra and right up there with the Civics and Corrolas.

history-Datsun 510,Honda Accords,Volvos,Lexuses,-I drive cars 200,000 miles- this is a second car to the awd Benz and seems a lot of value for the money, especially the "limited 5 door version" Suburu has a great track record and support. Have about 1,500 miles on this now. The jury is out whether I buy snow tires....read morehide

It has a little more hp than the 2013 Nissan Sentra that i test drove and reviewed a few weeks ago. mpg is the same as the 2013 honda accord that i test drove over a month ago. However, the accord has 39 more hp and the Chevy has 49 hp more.

- Cons
- A little rode noise when the stereo is off.

Best car for the money plus all wheel drive. This is my second Subaru and it is a big improvement from my 06 and it served me very well. They got rid of the timing belt for a chain and added CVT transmission. Also standard radio and controls are awesome, bluetooth pairs perfect with my iPhone for calls and music that you can control at the steering wheel. Also has great voice command for easy set up. Plenty of room in the rear and the seats fold down for much storage....read morehide

- Pros
- Comfortable, great packaging, and safe with AWD
- Cons
- CVT is a bit quirky, needs more low end pickup, bluetooth

Have never owned a Subaru before, but had many Hondas and a few Nissan products. All were very reliable. What attracted me to the Subaru are the good looks, limited trim packaging of leather, roof, and navi, but mainly the AWD. Granted I live in Florida, with no ice or snow, but we get a ton of rain. I-10 is terrible in the flash flood rain squalls that come off of the gulf. Definitely feel more safe, and enjoy the overall build quality, and lack of issues.
Great car, just wish I could have bought the WRX. But driving 25-30k miles a year doesn't make sense. Getting between 30-34 mpg mainly highway miles.
Keep it up Subaru...read morehide1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

- Handling, interior, gas mileage, AWD and predicted reliability
- Cons
- Engine and transmission is a bit loud

I traded in my 2001 VW Jetta because it was a lemon. I was determined to buy a Japanese car. The impreza was the perfect size and reliability s/b much better. The gas mileage was just as predicted. I enjoy driving this car knowing that it is tough as nails. Go Thunderbolt.
