- Pros
- 29 MPG hwy, roomy, good looking car, good trunk
- Cons
- 12 MPG city, consumes oil, whole front end rattling, clanking
Purchased As New
It is a nice car as a concept. Not a rocket but not lazy. The whole front end is making rattling and clanking noise to the the extend that I am not so sure it is safe, I am up to 10k miles, dealer told me that has to "break in" so to speak but I think it will break apart. Oil level went from full to "low oil" warning in a mere of 3000 miles. It is a nice looking car and comfy inside but workmanship and quality is beyond poor. The most terrible that when I went back to the dealer and complained that it rides like crap, he pulled out a brand new one and let me drive it - it was the same! I have a dodge caravan with 200,000 miles on it that does not rattle and clanks as much... Will try to give it back as a lemon....read morehide

It's Japanese so you know you can at least 400,000 miles out of it. You can't go wrong with a Jap car.

- Pros
- big comfy car, nice ride, HK stereo, great highway cruiser
- Cons

I traded a 2009 BMW 335i with sport package as I moved to Denver and needed 4wd. I used to have Acuras but didn't want to spend the extra 10K over the Subie. The 3.6 legacy is a great car, so much more comfortable than a BMW- with the potholes here in Denver the Beemer did not have the ground clearance - with the Subie I can blast over the potholes. I miss the acceleration from the Beemer turbo, but I am happy for the extra room and better ride....read morehide

I purchased a 2012 Subaru Legacy 2.5i premium in February and I have approx. 1,900 miles on it. It is a pleasure to drive. I highly recommend the car.

- Pros
- All Wheel Dive. Excellent interior. Modern Design.
- Cons
- Fuel Economy.
Purchased As New
I previously drove a 09 Legacy which I was very pleased with. Fuel economy is about the same despite the CVT transmission and higher claims in the 2012 2.5. I drive about equal city/highway miles and get an average of 20.7mpg using regular unleaded. In all the MPG we expect from an AWD car. The 2012 does have a larger fuel tank than the 09. Inside and out the 2012 Legacy 2.5 Limited is a sharp looking car. Driving the car you can notice the size and weight difference when compared to the 09 model. Still there's minimal roll when powering through a corner. Despite feeling a bit chunkier to drive than the smaller 09 model it's handling is firm and precise. Subaru's excellent AWD makes severe weather a non-issue. I expected the CVT transmission to operate smoother while shifting. This was always my biggest complaint with the automatic transmission of the 09. Also the responsiveness can be better. There seems to be a bit of a delay between pressing the gas pedal and the power getting to the wheels. Once your moving the acceleration is improved compared to the 2009. My only real complaint are the shallow console cup holders....read morehide
