Pros fuel economy, cargo space, off road
Cons tire noise, radio settings
Purchased as New
I have 12K on my Crosstrek. I love the car. I've had a lot of powerful cars in the past. My last was a Sonata with 250hp. I've also had a 300M (1999) with 255hp and a Legacy GT with 255hp. So you can tell I like power but I compromised for fuel economy on this vehicle. My fuel economy varies between 30 and 32 mpg and I'm very happy with that. I don't haul people much but I do like to haul stuff. The cargo space is great. I do go off road and the Crosstrek has performed very well. The real test was my vacation to the U.P. of Michigan chasing waterfalls. Lots of forest roads. It did very well. My pet peeve is tire noise. On smooth pavement it sounds like truck tires. However the Geolanders seem to be wearing well. My other peeve is the radio controls being locked out while the car is moving so not even a passenger can adjust things. Mine has the rear view camera in the dash and I love it. I've had one spat with the gas cap not being tight enough. Honestly I almost sold the car. It is unforgivable of Subaru to disable the traction control (a safety feature) because of a loose gas cap. Would I buy this car again, yes!...MoreHide
Pros Great MPG, awesome handling in all conditions, roomy interior for its size.
Cons Engine could use a little more pep, but is sufficent for what it needs to do.

This car is the perfect car for anyone who lives in a region that has inclement weather in the winter months and must commute. The ride is not as harsh as I thought it would be with the added height. They claim a combined MPG of 28, this is spot on! The engine seems ideal for the car, but I like to have some extra kick and would like a bigger engine option. The interior is pretty basic and plain, that is not a bad thing when it comes to being functional (which it is). This car is a dream. I recommend it for anyone looking for a utilitarian, go anywhere vehicle, with great MPG, and the size of a car....MoreHide
Pros AWD, MPG, Styling, Ride hight.
Cons Engine noise at acceleration, Could use a little more HP. takes Full Synthetic Motor Oil.
Purchased as New
Purchased new in May 2013. 6000 miles. Nice overall, could use more HP but not bad. Avg. 28.8 mpg. combined driving. Could use a little better suspension for cornering. Nice USB port for HD radio. Ready to try out the AWD this winter, works very well in the rain.
