- cute good overall economy easy to drive good price very good fit and finish
- strange grouping of standard features lack of selection at dealer red gauge backlighting
We had hyuandai two times before this car (Accent and Elantra GT) this is five times the car either of those were must be Japanese assembly over Korean assembly 55,000 miles on this couldn't get 30,000 out of previous two before you would start to lose confidence in them. Very happy with this car...read morehide

- decent fuel economy and comfort, attractive, fun to drive, inexpensive awd
- would perform better with 5 speed at or cvt, stereo needs upgrade
i've enjoyed driving my sx4 for the nearly 3000 miles i've put on it. the seat gets uncomfortable for me after a while. the stereo isn't good enough or loud enough, but after purchasing a clarion connector i can hook up an ipod (would have liked a mini-jack so i could have connected my sony/erikkson walkman phone). it handles nicely, but the auto-transmission needs 5 speeds or a cvt to perform better. it is the cheapest awd available and the greenest, after the ford escape/mercury mariner hybrids. good buy and a good start from suzuki - keep working it....read morehide

- Nice size, ability to lock all wheels, quiet solid ridei
- front windshield design,blind spot
I have now owned this car for about 5 months and I think this is one of the best cars I have owned. My previous cars were a Rav 4 and a Subaru XT6. I still have the Rav after spending over $1500 for a new trans computer. The Rav is no match for the handling and ride of the SX4. The SX4 is relatively inexpensive and has just about every option I need....read morehide

- Deceivingly large inside, tons of safety, looks great, nice ride, packed with non-standard goodies
- LED dash panel difficult to see in moderate to bright sunlight
This is my third Suzuki in the past 15 years, all have been extremely reliable and value packed. The SX4 was a no brainer choice this time around. I bought the Rally edition, it's the best bang for the buck out of all three editions. All that's missing is the remote keyless start, 9 speaker audio system (opposed to 4) and electronic stability control. Which, in my opinion wasn't worth the extra $ because the rally edition is a souped-up version of the convenience package and the extra trim makes the car look great. Fuel economy is very good for an engine this size and I think most nay-sayers aren't taking this into consideration. Slap in an aftermarket K&N air filter like I did, I'm getting 29 city/32 highway, in addition to approximately 5 more horses under the hood. Don't expect to break any zero to sixty land speed records, if you want that buy a sprots car. Although, the SX4 has plenty of passing/merging power once you're up to speed. Friends and family can't believe how spacious the interior is, and niether can I...it's like an optical illusion from the outside! I can't help but smirk when people ask me about options, nearly everything is answered with "It comes standard". Just to give you an idea of how hot this car is, mine was one of three sold at the dealership in the same day. So far, this is my favorite Suzuki yet....read morehide

- Handles well, roomy, lots of smart features but not cluttered with junk
- poor acceleration, no vanity mirror for passenger
I love the look, feel, comfort, and features of my new SX4 AWD AT. Everything makes sense, is simple to use, and not distracting. Great stereo too.
The only bummer is the acceleration, its a challenge in traffic to zip into another lane and pass, especially at low speeds. Be careful pulling onto highways etc - very poor pickup - could be dangerous....read morehide

- Very stable, smooth and fairly quiet ride. Excellent in snow. Unique appearance.
- Small fuel tank, marginal mpg, short on power, auto shifts too soon.
Just passed 10,000 miles in about four months.
At speed, the SX-4 Sport is well-equipped and surprisingly comfortable and quiet for such a small vehicle. Getting to that speed can be a bit noisy with the 4-cylinder engine but that's to be expected. Passing and hill climbing power is limited and using the speed control even in moderately hilly terrain can result in a double downshift during a climb. It's an excellent vehicle in the flatlands.
I was very impressed with the AWD system. No problems at all in snow over the first winter. Suzuki knows what they're doing in this area.
A very small gas tank results in frequent fill-ups. My SX-4 averages an acceptable but certainly not impressive 27mpg (about 75% highway use) in 2WD mode. Don't know about AWD mpg - doesn't matter in the snow.
Front seat comfort is very good but the back seat is expectedly tight for full-sized adults. The back is fine for kids.
The multi-function steering wheel is a nice touch. I was initially disappointed that the controls aren't backlit and can't be seen in the dark. But for the $17k price tag, I'll gladly make the sacrifice.
I tend to go for unusual vehicles and this one fits that description. I've noticed it does get a lot of looks. Despite a glut of small crossover and mini-SUVs on the road, the SX-4 has a unique look.
Although there are some shortcomings, it's a great value for about $17k and deserves a test drive if you're in the market for a tiny SUV....read morehide

- Good gas miles, looks, room, awd standard, value, handling for a small car
- no arm rest!
I bought this car about 2 1/2 months ago and I LOVE it!!! It is my first car that I bought brand new. My car was the only one left on the lot and it was in the showroom. The moment I saw it I liked it then when I took it to test drive I loved it!! There's alot of room inside more than you would think looking at it from the outside. The AWD handles very good! For the money this car is awesome!...read morehide
