Lower cost fun to drive SUV-like car!

smallish gas tank, slightly too small in back.

Must get the leather wrap steering wheel or you will be sorry! The
smallish gas tank requires frequent fill-ups and is a major boogey-man with the SX-4. Otherwise a DELIGHTFUL driving car like, mini-crossover, with nice high seating position. Handles comfortably, now equipped with ESCD for 2008, firm seating, i like the remote auto-unlocking key fob system, upgrade stereo with cd changer works and sounds quite good. Decent power on hiway, a bit slow from standstill. (It's a 4, so pedal to the floor) Sport model included cruise but it is only useable on a road that is NOT hilly.

This vehicle is NOT quiet. Suzuki could easily improve the sound dampening. The engine is smooth but you hear it and you hear the road although not to the extent of unpleasant. This has all wheel drive which i love and it can be turned off. Not like 4 wheel drive and not for off-road, just great for sudden nasty weather. Silly award for no light in glove-box, great light in rear hatch stowage. Adequate climate control. NOTE: CENTER ARMREST SEPARATELY ORDERED ACCESSORIE, U WILL DEFINITELY WANT ONE! Includes a small useful compartment and folds up. Get the dealer to throw in this armrest before signing a deal!!! Interior lighting very good. Outside mirrors very good. Ground clearance higher than a car, lower than a monster SUV, i like it.

I get 24 mpg, mixed driving. No seat height adjuster, at 5' 10" okay for me. Vehicle not for shorter person under 5' 5" i don't think....read morehide

Purchased this car in February, 2007. Excellent price, great handling, great sound system, safety is at the luxury level cars. Overall it is safe and fun to drive. We drove all over the place in the Canadian winter and we had NO problems in any driving condition. Good service people are a plus (401 Dixie Suzuki), great guys at that place....read morehide

We bought a 2007 base model with automatic transmission on Dec. 23, 2006. We live in a rural area in Central Washington. My wife is the regular user of the vehicle. So far she has put in 27,000 miles on it. This winter we have put on four Winterforce snow tires to improve its deep snow capability across the Cascades and the sloping 600-foot gravel driveway of our home.

The snow prowess stands this little car out over the Mazda Tribute she replaced with this and the Grand Vitara that I drive, both of which are tall and jittery. However, it does not pick up as quickly as one desires. It gets through the first few gears relatively smoothly and quickly, but there is a lull when it reaches the 4th gear (somewhere between 45 to 55 miles per hour speed). And it feels weak on long hills over the Cascades. I suspect a manual transmission would well take care of the above two complaints. However my friend, who owns a 2001 Subaru Forester with automatic transmission, drove it and said it did not feel much weaker than his Forester. If gas mileage is what the reader is interested, the followinging is the gas mileage log of the car. Mind you we live in a rural area where there is no traffic jam, and minimum trafic lights.

Gas Mileage could be better, No Armrest

As a previous Suzuki Reno owner, I find the SX4 to be the best vehicle that Suzuki has created yet! Great style and lots of premium features make this the best in class easily. You get all the gadgets and goodies you would get on a luxury car, at the most reasonable price I've ever seen on a car with this many features. Admittedly the gas tank could be a bit bigger, say 15 gallons or so, and they should throw in the Armrest as part of the Sport package, but the overall looks and value, and sheer drivability of this vehicle make it a must own. I will most likely keep this one for a long time! Get one if you can find one...they go fast!...read morehide

Great road manners, excellent handling & visibility

This car has a solid ride,it handles adverse road situations better than a lot of mid size cars. There is more bang for the buck than the other over priced Japanese cars and the Korean Kia & Hyundai products don't offer near the quality or value.Suzuki builds a tall car so you don't feel like you are cramped inside a can.Their warranty is arguably the best in the industry, after you read the fine print for the competitors there is no comparison.This car is a hit,and now I hear it is being offerred in a FWD version- Go Suzuki!...read morehide

We just purchased the AWD sport package in March 2007. In southern Ontario we had 35 centimeters of snow today and it handled just beautifully. We would recommend this car for anyone. We have 2 young children and know that the safety features on the vehicle are phenomenal.

We had hyuandai two times before this car (Accent and Elantra GT) this is five times the car either of those were must be Japanese assembly over Korean assembly 55,000 miles on this couldn't get 30,000 out of previous two before you would start to lose confidence in them. I decided to go to Norcal Suzuki and found my sales person personable, knowledgeable and very plesant. I drove the automatic and the manual. I made the decision to go for the most expensive package with manual and I am happy with my decision. I owned a 350Z roadsteer.....beautiful automobile!. Gas prices and maintaince, hands down my Suzuki makes me smile. I LOVE it!!!
