2007 Suzuki SX4 User Reviews
Base AWD shown
- $5,812 - $6,398
- cool looking car, excellent fit & finish, sharp handling, a lot of car for the money
- Why no sunroof offered?
I just took one for a test drive. Very impressive quality for a car in this price range. This car handles very sharp at low speeds. Handling on the highway is very solid, (it doesn't get blown around by crosswinds as easily as my Aerio does). Freeway off-ramps are lots of fun as there is very little body roll for an economy car.
The tri-mode AWD is an excellent feature for people who live in the Northeast.
Question: Why doesn't Suzuki offer a sunroof option?
I love my Aerio, but, when I purchased it they did not offer the awd with a manual transmission. I just might have to upgrade to the SX4.
Attention Suzuki!! If you build a turbocharged version of this car you would have a tough competitor for the Subaru WRX....read morehide

- 28 mpg hwy verified, beautiful styling, even better than a Mini Cooper
- Ride is a bit sitt, no pockets in the back of front seats, needs extra glove comp, no sunroof
My wife and I picked up our SX4 two days ago and we had originally planned to wait for the Sport SX4 to come out in December, but decided that this one has already all the feautures we need. It's the perfect combination of japanese engineering and european styling and we'd like to think that we are the first ones in Dayton, OH to drive one. We wanted it in Bright Red and there's only two dealers in the area that sell Suzuki, without one of them. Our dealer in Centerville located one in Indianapolis and had it traded in for the blue they had and where I did the test drive. This is a car that we are hoping to read that has become a hit for Suzuki....read morehide

- styling, features, available goodies
- underpowered, lousy shifter, cheap cloth on seats, unresponsive throttle
iv'e been tracking this car on the web for quite some time now and finally have seen and driven the car. suzuki (italdesign) definately hit a home run with the styling. i found the car just as i have read on the web, the reviews have been spot on. the car is proportioned very well, looks larger in person than pictures suggest. feels heavy to drive, like it needs a few more horses or to lose a few pounds. it's very smooth and the steering is responsive. the shifter feels cheap and the gates are not well defined. also, the clutch is very soft (not very sporty). i was hoping for a little more in the interior, it's a little spartan, but not too shabby. the seats are fairly comfy (very large, obviously designed for our increasingly overweight society), but the material feels a little thin. i wonder how it would stand up to dogs and/or kids. overall, seems to be a good value. it's still on my list, although i will hold out for the sport model....read morehide

- Getting around 30 MPG, Great handling, easy to park, great visibility.
- Convenience Package wasn't available at the dealership when I purchased this car.
My SX4 is really fun to drive. Most of the people who have ridden with me can't believe the interior room, especially the head room. I am getting around 30 MPG driving back and forth to work, the onboard fuel mileage computer has helped me alter my driving style to become more fuel efficient. The automatic 4 speed shifts smoothly and at very good intervals for fuel economy. The ability to drive in 2 wheel or all wheel is a great feature and I have used it during some recent rain storms and it improved the handling of the car. Just wish that the dealership would have had one with the convenience package on the lot as I am seeking alternate solutions to getting cruise control installed for some upcoming trips. My friends can't believe that I got an AWD car for the price I paid for the SX4. Good job Suzuki - this is a great car....read morehide

- Outstanding design, unique, very well made
I took this car for a test drive, the Suzuki dealer was right opposite the Honda dealer where I was looking at a Honda Civic and a Honda Fit, I had driven the Toyota Yaris earlier in the day but this car caught my attention (there was only one - a pearl white - manual). I walked across and the dealer and they handed over the keys for a test ride and I am blown. This car is awesome, I especially love the looks & styling, It looks expensive, I like the silver brush plates in the front and back, the seats felt very comfortable and you sit higher in this car than Civic, there's lots of headroom, I didn't get the feeling that the car was underpowered or anything like that during the test drive and I did merge with highway traffic.
Overall, this car is on the top of my list now....read morehide

- AWD, solid and stable ride, easy to park, auto tranny is smooth, unique look
- sluggish on acceleration and highway merging, cant hear turn signal, 27mpg
I traded my Echo for this because of AWD h/b option. Fuel economy of 27mpg on the highway is nowhere near 45mpg on my old Echo. Acceleration is sluggish and so is highway merging speed. Handling is decent at the expense of stiff ride. Safety features and standard equipment are good value for the money. I like the high seating position but the rear leg room is tight. Could use some more storage compartments. Cluster gauge and instrumentation looks really cool at night...Audi-like feeling. If you are planning to buy the FWD model, look for something else. The only reasons why you would want to buy this car are safety features and AWD....read morehide

- Great gas mileage, however haven't taken it on a road trip yet.
- No cons!
Love my SX4! It's an awesome car, GREAT ride for a small vehicle! Smooth handling. Haven't experienced our winter weather yet but I'm sure the AWD will work great.

- No trim specified for this review
- looks , built quality , design , perfectly logical ergonomics
- ride a little rough lacks of torque and power ,dumb boring colors
I am like those guys who stand out for Chevys and Mustangs ,have
arguments and ..... Nah , on a better thought I am like those fat
tatooed guys , whose tatoos read : Ride to live - Live to ride , Well
I feel the same passion those guys feel but in my case is for
Suzukis , specially for the new SX-4 ; to make things clearer and
shorter : You guys has almost built the car of my dreams . ALMOST.
because there are still two things that the car is crying outloud for :1-
Desesperately in need of a beefier engine ( That peppy , torquey
masterpiece from the Aerio ) . 2900 pounds are a lot of pounds to move when it come to a car of that size , so guys , sink your hands
in the parts bin and give the car the engine he deserves ; for real .
:2-Find the guy responsible for the paint schemes and hang him ....read morehide
