2004 Suzuki Vitara V6 User Reviews
LX 4WD shown
- $3,627 - $3,940
- good turning radius, easy to drive
- hard to hold the road, even during little winds, suspension not good
I have a 2002 5-sp Vitara, warranty too low (3 yr/36,000 mile). Got a 7 yr, 70,000 warranty and now they denigh it. Hard to keep on the road even in low winds, every little bump and you have to have the wheels balanced again. Brakes drums were too thin to begin with and wore out after only 2 yrs. I dont like the side-open rear door. Even with 5-sp gas mileage not that great. You feel every little bump, suspension not too good....read morehide

- performance, solid, turning radius, handling winding roads, price
- fuel economy, cargo space too narrow
I bought this Suzuki 2nd Hand. It is 2000 GV 4x4, manual. 37,000 miles when bought for $10,682 at dealer. It takes off well, though not as nimble as the Acura Integra I used to own or as ferocious as the Mazda Tribute V6 my wife drives. It is not the fastest car on the road, but you never feel that you have to struggle to keep up with anybody. It handles winding mountain roads exceptionally well. I travel between Tacoma and Wenatchee of Washington State often and I take Federal Highway 97/SR970. It winds left and right in rapid descent. I rarely have to use the brake while the brake lights of other vehicles in front flash constantly. I have a prolonged record of gas consumption record of this car since I bought it in January 2003. Being in the rural area, the annual gas mileage is 23.37 miles per gallon. Winter month average (late Oct. to February) 22.24 miles per gallon while the summer months (March to October) 24.36 miles per gallon. While the performance is not any better than Rav4, CRV or Forester, the gas mileage is subpar in comparision....read morehide

- cute small SUV. Everything you could ask for !
I almost didn't look at the Suxuki because of your bad review!!! What a mistake that would have been.
This car has it all .....I don't need to carry a load, but could if I wanted to. It is sturdy, has a big car feeling and handles like a sportscar. I drove it in 25 mph winds and it held the road like a champ. I have had Cadillacs that didn't do any better and weren't fun to drive. Visibiliy is great, everythingis great abtou this little achiever....read morehide
