2007 Toyota Tacoma 4X4
There are 10 user reviews for the Double Cab Long Bed V6 Automatic trim shown below
- Nice looking truck. Very comfortable, quiet and smooth ride. Roomy interior.
- Poor fuel economy, high price.
My double cab 4x4 TRD has got 17,000 miles on the odometer. No problems so far. The ride and steering are car-like. The truck is very stable on the road, even in the 2x4 mode in poor road conditions. I am happy that I ended up with a double cab instead of an access cab as I initially planned. The double cab has way more room and seats three in the back against 2 in the access version. I can say the same about the bed length. I purchased a truck with the long box, and I am glad about it. The long bed is much more practical, and the truck looks better with it, than with the short box.
The main disappoinment is poor fuel economy. Even when driving on highways, the mileage has never been above 20 mi/gal....read morehide

- Reliable, quality-built truck. Awesome ride.
- Center stereo. It has taken too much space.
Overall very good truck, probably tops in its class. I am satisfied with my Tacoma.

- HOT LOOKING!!!!!/has eveything i'll ever need/great riding/lots of power
- cant get garage door opener on visor(too thick) the center console is set too far back.
this truck is a great looking and running vehicle.i love the styling and the way it is laid out. the storage compartments on this truck are amazing, if you need more you have way too much stuff!! the power is great . there are a few things i would change though, my garage door opener wont fit the visor because the viser is too thick with the extender in it. sitting in the truck you kind of have to reach behind you to get in to the center console, and maybe moving the sterio a little further down on the dash....read morehide

- Great truck!
- Over priced!
I loved the truck!! Rides great, looks great, everything is laid out perfectly. I can also tell the vehicle will last many miles without any problems! Love Toyotas!! The problem: the price!!! Anybody thats in the market, and aggressively looking for the Tacoma 4x4 double cab with the TRD #2 package, will soon realize these dealers are price fixing the cars to the point that makes no sense. As an example; From 2007 to 2008 Toyota Tacoma had a $100.00 price increase (per Toyota Motor Corporation) but what I have found, dealers have added another $900.00 to that figure, increasing the price of the vehicle another $1000.00 to the initial inflated price (that they are not flexible on) And also be careful if you have good credit!!! (Establish the price first, BEFORE you give them any personal information; SSN, etc) I had one dealer after he found out what my credit score was, add an additional $6000.00 to the sticker price!...read morehide

- Quality ride, fun to drive, good engine response
- no heated mirrors or mp3 jack
I have 15,000 miles on this truck and so far it seems to be the best vehicle I have ever owned. I have been buying cars for over 40 years. American made autos will never match this Japanese technology. Top notch performance.

- Great looks. Smooth Ride. Plenty of espace for a truck. Good resale value.
- Don't have more interior Options.
I test drove the Nissan, Mitsubishi, ford, GMC and Silverado and the one that had the best firm handling was the Tacoma. Most of the other ones had the "floaty" ride feeling. We own a 2006 Z4 BWM convertible, sweet ride, and I am used to the firm handling and out of all the med. size trucks that I drove, this one came the closest to the same handling. I have to say that it can be a little more spending the other trucks, but it also rentains its resale value much, much better than the other trucks.
I do have to add that I didn't like the idea that the tacoma did not come in leather and no sunroof, which is a minus with the good outside looks. But overall, this is quite a nice truck for the price and the for those who like to change trucks often, it tends to retain it's resale value, at least in the NW :) I am happy with it....read morehide

- Perfect size, comfy for a truck, great fuel mileage for a 4.0L V6 never less than 20MPG since new
- Brake should be firmer and stronger - may be rear disc brake should solve the issue.
Transmission "hunt" when driving like a snail due to the fact that it is tuned for "efficiency"(like my wife 05 Camry V6!) but the engine screams with authority and speeds fast when needed - This is the best compromise of an intelligent software control system. It drives well and comfortable for a truck and it should serve well as a light duty truck as designed. I am very happy with the truck and time will tell if it will last like the previous Toyota small truck models(personally know an 85 Taco truck with 300k miles that runs great without any rebuild including the transmission!). Any vehicle with proper maintenance plus loving care will last! That includes Detroit made ones. Go test drive them all and the one you feel connected to is the one. The Taco is for me :)
. Never get below 20mpg since new (moderately driven)
. No Knock or power lost with 87 octane gasoline(can't feel any lost)
. 6 disc JBL CD stereo unit option is not great and not worth the money
. Toyota should put in rear disc brake
. Truck bed should include non-slip mat (it is very slipery!)
. Stronger bed side rail (anchor tie-downs)
. Don't forget and stop complain because this is a "light" duty truck and it serves the purpose well
. Most of the complains I read through the web are simply "NOT TRUE" and I don't know if the reviewers are actually own the truck. The brake feels is true but rattles, lack of power, bad design crabs are not true! Go drive it, see it, feel it yourself and draw your conclusion. For heavy duty and work related then you should look for the Detroit trucks, I think they are also build well and long lasting for their particular design purposes, I just dont need a "big" truck for everyday driving and a trip to Home Depot once in a while. It just my honest opinion....read morehide

- Rugged looks, kinda tough
- brakes clank, to much engine noise, engine problems
This is a truck that is not to flashy, but get most jobs done. It looks rugged, but that ain't good enough. I have not been happy with it. There are too many engine problems!!! Panels are plastic and flimsy. Mine broke even before going off road

- General looks/Good size
- Stereo looks cheap and quality so so
This truck looks great and is the perfect size much better than other counterpart on same category- not to big but not too small. I have a double cab long bed 4x4 2007 sport package. Got 18-19 miles per gallon on both hiway and city street combine. Acceleration a bit of slow moving with a lot of engine noise but it will pickup later when the speed is around 40-50mph. Downward is the Stereo system and my bumper/tailgate is not aligned so they might have issue in production and quality control can be seen from far. Seen some on internet picture with rear bumper/tailgate not align. So check out once you receive your truck dealer can't adjust they send your truck to the body shop once you take them home....read morehide
