2008 Toyota Tacoma 4X4
There are 6 user reviews for the Double Cab Long Bed V6 Automatic trim shown below
- good handleing, sturdy build, enough leg room for the 6 foot people
- dissapointing gas mileage body panel fit a little iffy in areas, chrome rear bumper is already rustin
I swiched from gmc to toyota because the new domestics are just to big,now Iam discovering that toyota is not all what it,s cracked up to be.The drive train is great and thats a key thing, but when the rear chrome bumper is rusting after 4 months thats a strong indication of a quality down grading.

- Love the bucket seats in the front and the floor shifter.
- Need power sunroof , heated leather power seats and turning signals built in to the side mirrors.
Please add sunroof and heated leather seats for 2009 models.
Competetors like Honda Ridgeline have all these options to choose from.
After market sunroof will have noise coming into the cabin in the long run.Leather seats cannot be powered or heated if you go after market.
Make these options available.

- Great appearance, fun to drive, and good four wheel drive performance.
- Gas mileage and needs back up sensors especially for long bed.
So far, I am very pleased with my long bed Tacoma with the TRD Sport package. I get a lot of compliments on the appearance and it is fun to drive. Gas mileage is not as good as I would have liked but it has improved since I added a tonneau bed cover. Since I bought it, we have had two major ice/snow storms in Arkansas and the four wheel drive worked flawlessly.
I have not pulled a trailer with it yet but have loaded the bed up with cinder blocks and firewood. The suspension handled both without raising the front end of the Tacoma up and the engine did not strain with the extra weight.
The interior controls are well placed and simple to use. The rear seats are comfortable and has good foot space.
With the length of the truck, it really does need back up sensors....read morehide

- Great Truck, decent gas mileage, roomy
- automatic transmittion
This is a great truck with a powerful V6, plenty of room. The TRD package is great and rides smooth. I love everything about this truck but one thing: the automatic transmittion. The double cab long bed does not have the option of a manual transmittion. The automatic transmittion feels like they pulled it off the corolla. But other than the automatic transmittion, everything is great....read morehide

- Nice bed whatever trim you get, nice value, real 4x4, tough looks a truck should have
- Still not enough power, annoying comfort, bad fuel economy even with weak engine
Toyota did a good job on the 08' Tacoma. I like how they put a nice long bed on every trim you get, I like the tough looks and the gripping handling, and I like how you don't have to give up all the money in your wallet to get one of these.
But the Tacoma still has a bad V6 and the comfort isn't as great as the car itself. And no matter what trim you get, you're stuck with a poor fuel economy.
But if you don't mind the weak engine, uncomfortable interior, or bad fuel economy, this truck is a best buy....read morehide

- Great Looking vehicle inside and out.
- Ride is bouncy, downshifts rough between third and second gear
This was my dream truck. Great looking vehicle, good utility and ability to transport my family of 5. The ride in this vehicle is the most uncomfortable of any vehicle I have owned. The truck is bouncy over normal pavement and harsh over any bumps. The road and wind noise are also more than you would expect from a truck in this price range. Definitely not a truck for a long drive.
The interior finish of the vehicle is definitely the best of the comparable trucks in this class.
Gas mileage has been around 19 in overall driving.
Overall I must say that I am disappointed with my purchase. I previously owned a Tundra TRD and was very pleased. In my opinion, Toyota has missed the mark with the overall ride quality in this vehicle....read morehide
