Had 1997 Tacoma that until I learned of the recall due to frame issues had been the best vehicle I had ever owned. Never had a problem with it. It was just the right size for my small city needs. Easy to park, Would haul those Home Depot items like plywood. lawn mower, plus new beds, dressers etc. Put on the shell and go on photo shoots in the country near by. Would have gotten another in a heartbeat but 2005 came along and the Tacoma grew.
The 2009 Tacoma is a good truck. Like the 1997 Tacoma it rides nice, has good power, and the transmission is very responsive. Gives the right control one wants with a vehicle that can't be had with an automatic. The back up camera is great.Back roads are fine and the 4 wheel drive does well. - Made in California, looks, handling in snow, overall ride, MPG, reliability
- Radio is horrible beyond belief!!!!! 30K mile stock spark plugs blow.
Purchased As New
This is my second Tacoma and I love it. First one was 4cyl 4x2 with 100K. Never had issue. Had 2009 4WD for 35,000 miles already and aside from the annoying and bizarre behavior of the radio it's been a dream. I live in N.E. city and no issues in the heaviest, sloppiest snow. Put K&N filter and denso iridium plugs to get 23MPG. My next truck will be a Tacoma after I pile 400K on this one!!!!...read morehide
