I have owned F 150s , chevy's. I would buy another Taco any day. I just purchased at 2012 and it is by far the best ever. In the past , I owned 2004,2008 and now 2012. i love this truck.

- Amazing power and durability

The 2012 Tacoma is an amazing smaller pick up truck. If you don't want or need a full size truck this is the only one to consider. Amazing power, 239 HP right from the factory. will light up the tires if you punch it. the 4x4 system is easy to engage, and will pull through anything. If you are gentle and a careful driver this truck will get excellent MPG, but note that if you are not, it will go through a lot of gas quickly. This truck has been driven through mud, snow, and the leading edge of a tropical storm, and is just as amazing as ever. I hope to have this truck for many years to come....read morehide

After owning 8 trucks over 12 years with the typical sad dissappointments from Ford (F150's and Rangers) and Gm (Silerados and Sierras) (Break downs, poor construction and yes the horrible resale values after 50,000 miles, so will never consider what has become only American "lables" not actual good vehicles) but back in 2006 I decided to make a change and bought a Tacoma double cab with the short bed. I loved that truck, never a glitch, not a ping, issue or dissappointment. Wanting a change of color and for no other reason I decided to trade it in with having 279,000 miles yes 279,000 miles I paid $26,000 when I bought it in 2006 and on paper for a trade in I got $14,800 toward another new Tacoma double cab again with the Sport TRD but with the long bed (which I recommend now having one) paid 30,295 before trade in was figued and I can honestly say still no complaints at all. Gas mileage is consistent at 17-18 regular driving and I managed to get 23-24 on long trips, accomplished by not going over the speed limit. I get great use out of this truck, tow my camper which weighs just under 6000 lbs without any complaints. 4x4 is great in the snow, and it is practical to be my only vehicle with the 4 doors. Again is a great vehicle, and after all the nightmares with my previous trucks, I can say the past 6 years beginning with my first Tacoma and now in my second I have had NO headaches....read morehide

I have a '98 Tacoma and always swore I'd get a new one when it broke. I just gave up on it braking and bought a 2012 even thought the '98 is still going strong. One for the city and one hunting/ranch/work...

I don't own a Toyota truck - BUT I am planning on buying a new truck in about a year. I talk with everybody that owns a newer truck and get their opinions. I have NEVER had one bad word concerning Toyota trucks. It seems to me that many of the comments here are bogus - and probably from competing car salespeople. As far as I am concerned Toyota still has my vote....read morehide

- Pros
- Good styling
- Cons
- Horrible brakes, non-functioning radio/bluetooth interface, bad network of dealerships

This is the first time I've owned a Toyota product, and I can write without hesitation that it will be my last. The brakes "chatter" at all speeds, and when I approached the dealership about the problem, their response was "the brake material is made from bad metal -- try harder braking to smooth out the chatter." The XM radio fails constantly and the bluetooth will not hold a phone pairing. To these problems, the multiple dealerships I have taken the truck to responded: "We can't fix those problems because we can't replicate them when we have the vehicle." After years of owning several Honda products, I suppose I became spoiled to their legendary reliability, superb handling, and economical ownership. My next trip will be to a Honda or Acura dealership. This Toyota is nothing but a headache....read morehide

Toyotas are world know for quality. I have a 2008 and all I do is put gas in it and change the oil. Oh and blow by Nissans in snow storms!

2011 Tacoma DC 4x4 manual, short bed, TRD Sport. Bought new in Jan. 2011, at first I didn't like it coming from a full size truck but the longer I own it the better I love it! After the engine gets 5000 miles gas mileage and engine performance improves. When it was new the engine made valve train noises, now that noise is gone, engine now sounds smooth. The paint never faded, still looks like new when parked outside in the bright sun, I can tow a 3000 lb trailer with no problem. In my opinion the Tacoma is the best in its class....read morehide
