2006 Toyota Tundra 4X4

- Overall Great dependable truck
- Push button low drive gear not a fan
Purchased As Used
Owned, Mazda, Ford & Chevy trucks these to left don't compare at all for mileage you expect up front, comfort or reliability. Purchased 2006 in 2009, needed very little except Bilstein shocks all around, replaced them in 2010, aside from minor balancing of one tire Toyo AT tires, drive is smooth, comfortable. I pull a trailer with two four wheelers and gear in back, get 13 mpg with trailer. Without trailer same distance @70-75 mpg, 19-20 mpg, to and from work with errands 15-16 mpg. Exactly what I expected from the 4.7 V-8 w/Iforce. I wanted a tacoma, settled for a tundra, had I got the Tacoma, I know the mileage with trailer would be alot less. I hunt 6 months of each year....read morehide

- Tight an Solid. No rattles. Love that "quality feel". Quiet, powerful, exc. 5 speed AT adds.
- Small back seat in access cab. Styling is not as macho as Dodge or Nissan.
7/8 size truck with modest (7000#) tow capacity meets my needs perfectly. One guy complained that his Tundra wouldn't handle his 35' 5th wheel. Is he nuts. It probably weighs 12000#!! Nearly twice the rated capacity. I love the smooth, quiet V-8 and it performs much better than my 2002 with a 4 speed AT. Disappointed in lack of bells/whistles in SR-5. (Trip computer, lighted vanities, power seat, Serious radio, etc. But overall, I love the quality and love to drive it. It's "bank vault" solid!!...read morehide

- It is great, better than expected, I got an average of 20 PG/Super Gas
- I see no Cons yet, I'm very happy with my Tundra, everyone looks at it. I feel its power, I love it.
I was worring about fuel economy, but I was surprised when I drove to NC, about 520 miles. It gave me an average of 20 miles per galon, great for an 8 V8 4.7.
Very stable wheel drive manuver, and the suspension is great, you do not feel bumps as tough as you might think a truck is. It feels better or the same as my van.
Driving at night is wonderful, with my van I could hardly see the road, the other car lights were blinding me, but with the my Tundra, that does not happen any more, I feel more safe in my Tundra.
The engine is not noise like others think, its very smoth sound, and anyhow I like the powerful Roar I hear when suddenly acelerate it.
I love my Tundra....read morehide

- Awesome truck. face it, the Japs kicked America's ass at this game
Look I work on the road. traveling from state to state all over the country. I have used my tundra to tow a uhaul trailer with a 4000 lb car on the back and I drove 75mph the whole way from new Hampshire to Florida. anyone who writes a bad review about the tundra doesnt know trucks. Faster than the F150,any of the Chevy trucks and still drives like a luxury car. Face it the two TOP TRUCKS on the market are made by Nissan and Toyota. Hands down if you want a reliable truck, with a strong engine and great comfort buy a tundra....read morehide

- ok, as good as any other comparable truck of this size
- Good ride, great pickup, good power
I read a review that said "never again", "no power", you've got to be kidding, that is bogus and untrue for this vehicle, this is as good as chevy or ford and its overall quality is better than most.
