- Rides really good, nice and roomy, love driving it
- Getting around 18.5 mpg which is good for this type of vehicle but wish it was better.
I really love my 4runner. I have had a Ford Explorer before and it was okay, but I love the Toyota much more! I went from a Chevy Malibu to the 4runner because I needed more room. It is everything that I wanted in a vehicle. We looked at every type of SUV that there was out there and this was the only one that my husband and I both agreed on. We both love it. I did not like driving a car, so I loved going back to another SUV, especially one as nice and smooth riding as the 4runner. We love it!!!!!!!...read morehide

- Solid, Build quality, Driveability, Performance..need I say more
I have owned a 1998 Dodge Durango SLT 4x4, 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Limited, and 1997 Range Rover. There is only one of these Vehicles that has a slight advantage. The Range has better approach breakover and departure angles but, only by a couple degrees. I love my 4RUNNER, feel s and looks like a truck but drives and handles like a sports car(Xreas suspension) 0-60 between 7.1 and 7.4 seconds, I would like to see anything but a high output V8 touch that.. It takes the cake as a whole package. There are other vehicles on the market that are being compared to the 4RUNNER but, let me tell ya, once you drive one you'll want to buy one. Finally a vehicle that will last and have a resale value!
I don't have enough good things to say about it....read morehide

- Good fuel economy, 18 and 24 average, excellent excelleration and handling. Constant complments.
- seat comfort could be improved, cold days heat comfort slow coming
I just love my 4x4 Sport Edition, with Red Salsa color. I have the v6 and the only reason you might need the v8 is for towing. I have owned Chevys and Fords for years...my mistake. This vehicle is way ahead.... interior styling, performance with economey. I constantly get, "Nice 4Runner", and head turns. Inside has ample room for 5 adults for a multi. hour trip, (taken several) without complaints.Performs in traffic like a sports car and snow like a snow cat...read morehide

- Stylish, Nice Interior, Got all the 4x4 things needed to go offroading, Smooth Ride
- Very uncomfortable seats, The deafult low beam lights are very poor.
I own 2006 Sports Edition 4x4 V6 in Shadow Mica color. I love the color and I love the design and style of 2006 model. At one point it truly is a head turner and pimp ride .... yeah can easily impress girls. On the other hand it is a true offroad truck solid truck.
I was looking to buy the new FJ cruiser and have been researching for FJ cruiser for nearly six months and finally when I went to the show room to grab the keys of my new FJ cruiser I ended by driving out 4Runner. The main reason I wanted to buy FJ cruiser was its superb offroading capabilities but I found out that 4x4 sports edition got better 4x4 functions and capabilities. Plus I am getting a cool interior and all the goodies of a sports edition. This truck has some bold looks and people will give you way.
There is no perfect car in this world. Manufacturers try to get perfection in one thing and forget about the other. I bought it because this came on top of all cars on my list, which was ofcourse by my own judgement. Yes this car is not perfect .... I really dont like its seats they are very uncomfortable they could have done better. But the interior is great alot of space and compartments to store stuff. The default low beam lights which come with the truck are very poor I had to buy third party to fix this issue. And it wasn't easy too TOYOTA changed the standard of the bulb and it was very tough to find the bulb which can fit in this model and TOYOTA itself has no upgrade for it.
Bottom line I am very happy with this SUV. This is not a crossover or whatever they are now a days coming up ... its a true SUV and a Truck. I am enjoying it and hope you enjoy too.

- It's roomy, stylish, smooth
This is absolutely the best SUV I've had. I had an Xterra and Murano. I thought the Murano was teh best thing until I got this. It has more than enough power and enough room to fit people and cargo. Couldn't ask for anything else.

I absolutly am in love with my 4runner! Unlike alot of you I love taking it on long trips and can load up 4 of my friends and we all fit well. It looks nice, I got the shadow mica color. I think thats the best color toyota has made so far! its pretty no matter what the day is like LOVE IT! It has a lot of get up and go and good gas mileage! toyota has worked hard for me to get the exact 4runner i want. wonderful black leather seats are a plus. i love the air control. gets warm/cool very quick. i can pull trailers and boats... i will never go back to an american vehicle. they are made way too cheap, plastic door handels and all (i laugh at that one!)... THANKS TOYOTA!...read morehide

- rides very smooth, comfort is excellent, gas miledge to work is 22.7
- cup holder could be deeper, but cant complain, it has it all

This is truly an upgrade and even with the fight with my husband over this or a chevy trailblazer, I think he EVEN agrees WE made the right choice
I love the hour drive to work and back
It's a joy driving this suv with everything at my fingertip

- Great MPG, Rides Smooth, Nice Features, Very Sharp Looking,
- Pricey, Low HP, thats about it.
overall love the SUV, had an '05 Honda Pilot (that was trashed) and really liked it, but the 4Runner has a much better look to it, it has more of an offroad truck feel than the Pilot (which had a roomy feel similar to a minivan), the only thing that the '06 4Runner lacks is horsepower, the pilot had much more power and acceleration, if you want a sharp looking SUV with great features (sunroof, MP3/WMA player, 6 disc CD, power rear window, etc.) then get yourself a 4Runner...read morehide

- Excellent build quality, reliable history, ergonomics well thought out.
- Nit Pick Only, Would like to see both front windows be fully automatic.
This is my third 4 runner and Ialso owned 2 Chev. Blazers. Lost an engine in the first Blazer and and had the fan assembly come off the second at 2000 miles. Never had my 4 Runners back to the dealer except for normal service. I pull a camper and use the vehicle extensively off road. Live in Arizona so lot's of opportunity to put this new Sports Edition to the test. Love the suspension and the V6 is more than adequate. Handling is superb both off and on road. This vehicle is well thought out and has all the features of a luxury vehicle as well as a great weekend off road adventure truck.Exceptional all the way around!...read morehide
