- Sharp looking-good mpg for SUV-drives superb!!
- Needs additional charger outlets in backseat
First of all, this is my first brand new car and I couldn't be happier with it!!! We shopped around and were set that we were going to get an Envoy or Trailblazer but after the test drive in the Blazer, the plainness of the inside and the horrible gas mileage, we couldn't make ourselves go through with the deal. Since I was already driving a 00' Camry, we decided to check out Toyota. I love the stylish look of this vehicle, it handles excellent and after only 2 weeks around town, I'm already getting 20 MPG and it's just bound to get better. I do wish it had a little more passenger leg room. I love all the compartments, steering wheel controls and tow options. Don't overlook this vehicle - it's worth the drive!!...read morehide

- Smooth ride and quiet
This SUV drives like a dream. It drives itself! It's hard to realize somtimes that I'm well over the speed limit since the ride is so smooth. Outstanding vehice.. The only complaint I have is the steering. Seems like I have to fight it more, especially on windy days, but I do live next to the Chesapeake Bay and taking the Bay Bridge and other bridges during commutes, plus with the high profile does factor in. Otherwise this is a great SUV. Typical Toyota quality (My 3rd), Classy looks and reliability. I have researched other SUV's in this price range and would buy no other!...read morehide

- Looks awesome. Lots of capacity to haul things.
- Drivers seat is VERY uncomfortable. Ride is a little rough.
I got the "Shadow Mica" color. In the shade, cloudy or on a rainy day it looks teriffic. Of course that's when I bought my car when it was raining. However, in the sun the color has lots of "flecks" (sparkle) of blue and green and I don't like it, I mean I REALLY don't like it. With respect to my comment about the drivers seat, there are some controls but nothing seems to work to where I would be comfortable driving the 2006 4Runner for several hours at a time. So you are asking why did I buy it? It looks great. It has a terrific reliabiity record. Is that good enough to spend $30K on a vehicle...probably not in 20/20 hindsight....read morehide

- Drives better than it looks, rides great, excellent on ice and snow.
- Goofy mirrors inside the cargo area are disconcerting
I have two weeks and 300 miles on my new SR5 V-6 4x4 and it is better than I expected with regard to ride quality and performance. The ride is very good, very quiet, very comfortable. Performance is good, much quicker and much more nimble than most SUVs. I shopped all models, from Ford to LandRover, and found the 4-Runner to offer the best ride, best handling, and best performance. I have yet to get it off road, but it will get a workout this spring, and with the ground clearance, locking differential, and solid rear axle, I expect it no problems....read morehide

- Good Looks, Intelligent computer electronics, NO Wind noise,Solid Quality, Nice get up and go.
- Vague Steering
4runner is a solid built vehicle even when driving on uneven roads it would stay on the road with ease of control.Very Intuitive design. Toyota has done a great design with the CAR. But buyers should be aware of unscrupulous Dealers such as Michael Toyota in Fresno.

- COMFORT! Safety. Smooth ride. The way that it handles on icy snowpacked roads.
- None really, fuel economy not great, but it is a SUV
I Love this 4-runner! I drove a old 86 4-runner, for years. I then drove a 2001 CRV for 4 years. Obviously the CRV cannot compete with the 4-runner for comfort, safety and performance. I drive 30 miles one way to work everyday, over a 10,000 foot, Mt. Pass in the heart of the San Juan Mts. 80% of the time the roads are icy and snowpacked. The 4-runner has been awesome in these conditions, where the CRV had me holding my breath and praying most days....read morehide

- Looks good, good gas miliage for an SUV
- Not enough room, small interior for a family
My biggest problem with this car is the interior room. I have a 15 month old son. When we take long road trip we have to pack his stoller, pack n play, toys and our luggage .Once we pack everything there is no room left anywhere! There is only three of us! Also having a car seat in the back only leaves room for one other person to ride in the back seat. We can ride four adults (three with the car seat installed) comfortably.
We also had to replace the belt right off the bat. It was squelling from the day we brought it home upon start up. We've had no other problems except a few interior squeaks here and there. It definitly is not a family car if you have little little ones...we are looking to purchase something with a little more room....read morehide

- Great comfort. Huge interior. Great on gas. HANDLES LIKE A DREAM
- only one outlet in front area of car. Can't play Sirius and charge phone at same time
I just picked my new 2006 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V6 up today. Traded in a 2005 Toyota Solara V6 SLE.. Gas mileage sucked.... Let me tell you. I am a police K9 officer and have driven tons of SUV's... This one is by far the top on my list. If they make the 4Runner for the next 60 years I will buy one.... I love it. So much room. I can fit the dog, equipment, crate, and still have room for 3 passengers... It is awesome. Only downfall I have found so far is that there is only one outlet in the front of the vehicle. I had to buy one of those double adapters to be able to play my Siruis sat radio and charger my phone at the same time... But with a simple flaw like that who would not want to buy this SUV... I recommend it to everyone I know... THANKS TOYOTA FOR MAKING ANOTHER OUTSTANDING VEHICLE.!!!!!...read morehide
