Got the Shoreline Blue Pearl with Black interior, our third 4Runner Limited since 1999. Nothing ever done but oil, tires, plugs, breaks, belts and timing belts. These cars are just the right size for most every situation and are very efficient. We got all the options this time and there is a bit of technology overload, but as we figure it out it all works beautifully....read morehide

- Toyota/Lexus brand full of recalls, now its again back to square one unattended acceleration!!!
- Toyota and Lexus name brand now tarnished with bad quality with constant recalls!!!!!!!
Purchased As Not Purchased
I stopped to think about buying this 4Runner or not. The one that is stopping me are the annoying and constant recalls this company gets. It only seems that only now the U.S. and Japanese governments are cracking down on Toyota's quality, which before got a preferencial treatment, but now its focus are on them. Toyota has not been thinking about quality product, but only profits with their mass production to be number one!
Now its 2.7 million vehicles worldwide, to include this model and other in the Lexus brand. I would not buy another car from them and its affiliates!!!!!...read morehide

- Awesome tuck feel, clearance, and options
- Interior Space awkward, but still useable

Coming from 3 Ford Explorers and Grand Cherokee in my history, I was excited to change to a Toyota. The higher clearance and "truck feel" were immediate differences I noticed. Several times already this winter, I have used 4 wheel drive during hazardous conditions, and even did a little Donuting to see how it truly performs. Amazing is all I can say. Immediate return to control with a little gas, and only a slight annoyance to Toyota's automatic control system, which I am sure is useful for soccer moms and novice 4-wheelers who don't know what they're doing when they lose some rear wheel grip.
The only other slight disappointment was the awkward cargo space. Even with both rear and 3rd row seats down, the space is raised because of the built-on-frame construction. Compared to a Ford Explorer, which epitomized cargo space, the 4runner is slightly cramped and feels "short" despite it's new larger 5th generation body. This is only a minor annoyance, well out-weighed by the superior off road ability, road clearance, towing ability, and surprisingly decent gas mileage for a 4,000 lb vehicle.
After hating every second of my one year Grand Cherokee experience because of the "car feel." I have now returned to what I loved most about SUVs in the first place. Truck feel and power, Off road capability, and powering through snow on the way to the mountains with no fear, plus room for the dogs....read morehide

- Great interior space, quiet and smooth ride, solid MPG, great options
- Sway on turns, Rear wiper angle

Couldn't be happier with my decision to upgrade from an Accord to a 4Runner. This is truly a "SUV" and rides like one. Very capable 4 wheel drive and can handle all elements. If your looking for a car ride you should be targeting a cross-over. Very sturdy feeling vehicle and after 3,000 of driving I have not found any major flaws....read morehide
