- Pros
- Hubby wanted a truck, I wanted bells & whistles - 4Runner is a marriage of both!!
- Cons
- Too much plastic on dash, 3rd seats are useless - no leg room
Purchased As New
We love all the features on our Limited 4runner. My favorites are the back up screen, one touch power windows and front seat leg room.
We bought this knowing we may not get very good gas mileage. In the city, we average 17.2 mpg. We are taking an extended trip this summer and hope we get much, much better.
We would definitely buy the Toyota 4runner again. This is our 6th Toyota in 31 years!!!!...read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

I'm going to buy a new as soon as my 170,000 mile 05 sport breaks, or I get tired of it.

Had 2008 4runner (SR5 4X4). Really enjoyed it and no issues at 82K when we traded it for the 2013. Only regret with '08 is that I wish I would have bought a Limited at the time. Well, that changed in December when I bough my wife a 2013 Limited. Wow, solid car with great feel for a semi-large SUV. Love the white with tan - get compliments on it all the time. Feel really comfortable with my wife and child in this car. Fuel economy is better than the window (eco light really helps). Drove a bunch of other competitors when I was with my mom when she was looking at cars earlier that month. Family still has rural property where this vehicle will be required to be a truck and we like to drive to CO to go skiing and camping. Nothing compared....read morehide

- Built on a Truck Frame
Purchased As New
This is my first new vehicle in 13yrs, and I love it. I traded in a 1999 Ford Explorer XLT with 141,000 miles on it, so as you can see I hang on to my vehicles for long periods of time. I did lots of research on the 4Runner. I look at Consumer Reports which rated high in reliability. Most SUVs are built on car frames, but the 4Runner is built on a truck frame. That tells me that the 4Runner is going to be more durable than the average SUV. It rides wonderfully and comfortably. I have XM satillite radio, a navigation system, sunroof and tinted windows. Oh yeah, the 4Runner comes with 3rd row seating. I don't need a third row, so I usually keep the seats folded down for more cargo space. But, it's nice to have in a pinch. For the ladies I would suggest you get running boards. The 4Runners sit a little high (which I like), unless you want to have to jump up in to your vehicle while you're wearing heals and a dress. Finally, the 4Runner just looks cool, and makes you look cool driving it. I got the dark gray metallic with black interior. Definitely grown & sexy! I'm so very happy with my purchase....read morehide

Well your hearing from a second time buyer, loving my old 2005, brought me to upgrade to my brandnew limited w/ the 7.1 navigation screen and 15 JBL speakers which i had to have!!! I am a toyota loyalist and so is my husband. These things are virtually bullet proof. I think they are gorgeous inside and out. We bought this with a full 7 year paint, interior , electrical bumper to bumper warranty. Love me my yotas!!!...read morehide

I have a 2004 4 Runner SR5 with 186,000 miles. I bought it 6 months old with 16,000 on it. I change oil and rotate tires every 5-6000 miles, no exceptions. Use BG oil products.
All I have ever done is maintance, I flush fluids, change oil, rotate tires, and that it. Best car I have ever bought. Has a stiff ride but not so bad, also this thing can turn on a dime. 4 wd works well, I use it in snow and off road....read morehide5 out of 5 people found this review helpful.

We bought this vehicle new with only 3 miles on it, ours is a SR5 with a limited package, with all the bells and whistle that you can get in a limited model.
The vehicle is comfortable to drive and ride in, not much outside noise on the inside. I wish that nav system was more user friendly,2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.
