Everyone knows the pros & cons (mostly pros) by now, so I won't go into those. My 2000 XL (w/ alot of options) has been nothing short of perfection!! I now have 120k on the odometer, and the ONLY problem I ever had was it stalled out when I took my foot of the excelerator...something to do w/ the throttle arm-body @ the 110K mark!! 120K is a bunch of miles, but I'm sure it will go for another 100K before the next problem comes up. Yes, we have a lot of road miles on it, and that's the beauty of this thing...when my wife & I arrive at our 350 mile (typical)destination, our 50 year old bodies feel like the trip was only a 30 minute drive. This car is comfortable, roomy & VERY quiet.
I am very interested in the new 2005 model. Pix on the internet look pretty good. The interior is looking very exciting -with the exception of the light colored wood trim. I'll overlook that. I'm considering upgrading to the LIMITED edition when the new 2005's come out next month (Feb. 2005). For a bit over 30k, who needs a Lexus!!...read morehide

I own a 2002 Avalon and i loved this car, best engine, no problems at all, I drive about 45,000 miles a year and never had a problem. My next car will be another Avalon
