- Mediocre acceleration on the highway
- transmission slips when accelerating, bad interior design, 20mpg highway
I was shokingly surprised to find that my 2006 Toyota Avalon (19,000 miles) has very little to offer.
The transmission slips when accelerating from a stop. It's as if the fuel engagement is delayed. Handling around curves and corners is very weak and it almost feels like you're driving a van.
The fuel door often sticks.
The worst thing about the Avalon is the interior. The automatic windows are difficult to control. They always want to go all the way up or all the way down.
The driver/passenger seats are extremely uncomfortable. They are like sitting up against a brick wall.
If you have to hang a shirt on the hook above the rear windows, the shirts will be laying over the back of the seat. It's simply bad design and placement.
When positioning a child seat in the back, it is difficult to reach the anchors behind the bench. It is very difficult to use a child seat in this vehicle.
I would never consider another Toyota. Bad Mistake!!!
