2007 Toyota Avalon
There are 10 user reviews for the Touring trim shown below
- Ride, interior room and fit, fuel economy
- engiene is very noisy, transmission is jerky
This is my second AValon. I had a 2000 XL fro 7 years and 80,000 miles with no issues. It's engine at 80,000 miles was quieter than my new 2007 Touring model. The transmission seems to shift irregularly with a jerky sound when slowing down and then resuming speed. I have also encountered fluied leaks and I am now hearing what appears to be an annoying air leak in the windshield area. Overall I am pleased but cannot rate this model as high as the 2000 model because of the engien noise....read morehide

- Looks, Rides beautiful, very fast, and very very roomy inside
The Avalon Touring is a Great car! Pick up is amazing and the sport suspension lets you make turns with out sliding all over the place. The BAck Seats recline! Yes they recline back so you can relax or take a nap. I love this car and anyone who buys one will have no regrets.

- a comfortable car
- salesmen in Right Toyota do not sell the car
I went in to Right Toyota in Scottsdale, Arizona for an Avalon to test drive since my friend got one and he loves it. One salesman came and left quickly since he thought I just want to test drive and might not buy the car that day. I was waiting there alone for 20 min and got no one came to take care my request. I left with no test drive, no purchase in Right Toyota. It was a very frustration experience in Right Toyota. You do see many sales people sitting and charting in the front area of the dealer entry. Why do they take care of their business? How does Right Toyota earn business in todays auto market? Of course, I went to another dealer and got my car. I heard other people had similar personal experience in Right Toyota and really hope the owner of Right Toyota would take some action for the sales people to improve their customer care and make a good business....read morehide

- Comfortable, very quiet. great hwy ride and mileage
- Front styling and touring wheels are a little plain. Sports suspension only offered in the Touring.
Serene yet controlled highway ride. Before you decide on the touring suspension, try the limited/XL/XLS on the highway in a high wind. The soft suspension can make a crosswind drive somewhat scary. The touring suspension is a great solution. Not quite as floaty, but more relaxing and controlled. The graphite trim in the touring also is less over-the-top then the fake wood in the other models.
Mileage is great at 31 or better between 65-70 mph, however; if you drive anything over 70, mileage starts to drop rapidly. 75 yields 22. 80 is 20 mph. (Regular gas, however; Manual suggests higher octane for better mileage.)
This car will cruise at 95 (at about 18 mpg) without any apparent effort and very little wind noise. Don't buy a Lexus, the Avalon gives you everything you need, with money left over to buy a Miata....read morehide

- EPA Milleage, silent interior, luxury ride, dependability; log term reliability
- a barely noticeable transmission shifting harshness, nothing else for the price
An excellent buy, mien Avalon is 1 yr. old now and 13,000 Miles later ebntitel me to a well informed and tested review.
Initially I liked the car at test drive but found the ride a little too cushy for my taste (too much lincoln town Car . .ish).
Very powerful 280 horses for a V6 with the fuel economy of this level.
I get in a busy city traffic with lots of stop and go ( more stops than go) about 23 to 25 MPG now in the hwy, that a thing of beauty, i can get between 29 (driving fast) to 35 MPG driving at about 62 - 67 MPH around that point there is a cruising speed bracket where the car feels likw the engine was sleeping and it is as it is most economical efficiency, I actually get on short and medium trips easy 34 MPG, my kids cannot believe it, my son drives my old Corolla (now 240,000 trouble free Miles and counting), and he only gets about 30 MPG.
Granted the fuel consumption varies according to the weight on your right foot however a car that will put 280 horses on the pavement and still gives you 35 MPG when you feel like in the economy mode is unreal and unheard of.
Comfort, sporty ride in the Touring package, the stereo (JBL Synthesis) is very good, not worls class, but very good for the money, I feel it could have brought MP3 player, but . . no such luck in the 06 model.
The tires are very good borderline with excellent (Michelin) and 17"rims comlete the look (maybe 19"would have been better. but gives me something to shut for . .. )
Overall a winner in all aspects I drove the Lexus LS and GS series and this one compares very very favorurably with the GS300, at a fraction of the cost deliver 80 to 90 % of the goods at60 % of the cost, no a bad deal at all.
I owuld recomend thsi car without any reservation to anyone looking to get a great sedan at $30K mark,
Make no mistake this is not a BMW, if we lived in Germany and had the Autobahn close by I would have purchased a 745 or even 750 but a dose of reality and in secret at 120 MPH this car feeels like still can go another few rounds and feels also very safe and secure, even at high speeds, the Michelins hugh the road in a most impressive way.
How many times one can drive at high speeds in our good 'ol USA . .. not many . . .....read morehide

- looks.. sporty yet very roomy, good performance for a big sedan
- wind noise, mpg less than expected, missed a few accessories that should be standard.
Overall, I really like this car.... but there are few little things that keep me from being totally satisfied with my selection.
I've had my Black 06 Touring for about 9 mo. and 18.000mi. Since I am in sales with a local territory, my goal was comfort for me and ocassional passengers but had to have the looks, performance of a sports sedan to go with it. I had my eyes on the new Avalon as my next car since I first saw it in 05! (previous cars: 02 nissan altima3.5 .....fast and fun ,roomy but very noisy and 03 lexus es300...quiet and luxurios but underpowered)
.... anyway I barely average about 23mpg (22/31???)70% hwy, mostly level terrain and 27mpg tops hwy only. still not too bad for a big car as it does have good overall performance. ( I do agree with others though that the transmission shift patterns and traction control sometime work against itself) and for all the standard options included in the TOURING Pkg. how can miss a autoday -night mirror with compas, individually controlled map lights, fold-in (as apposed to Large break-off)mirrors,pass power seats dont have6-way, heigth /angle adj for taller passengers comfort, fog lamps for looks only, i'd give up the casette for one of those opts .. could use a little more interior style....... but in all fairness, the other 85% is great!!!...read morehide

- Great fuel economy for large sedan, Big Comfortable Interior. Nice Sound System.
- Rear Quarter Blind Spots, No rear parking sensor, Side View Mirrors Should be foldable. Soft Brakes
Two months ago I traded in my 05 Lincoln Town Car Signature Limited for my 07 Avalon Touring. I wanted a smaller car outside but with the same room inside and to my suprise the interior head room is better, the leg room is better, there is more support in the seats, the seat heater not only heats the bottom but also heats the back. The JBL sound system is a true sound factory.
The Town Car was nice but it doesn't compare to the handling of the Avalon. It has less horse power than the Avalon as well as terrible fuel economy and the engine had a loud ticking fuel injection system. The Avalon engine is quiet and responsive.
The Avalon is $20,000 less than the Town Car but it rides and feels better. The Avalon Touring came Standard with HID Head Lamps and Fog Lights. Both are expensive options on the Town Car. My in-laws are Ford Corporate and hate that I purchased a Toyota. But so far I don't think Ford, Mercury or Lincoln can serve up a car in the price range of the Avalon with the same solid quality you get. Oh by the way I own a 05 Mustang GT too. I won't be giving that up anytime soon....read morehide

- Good fuel economy, comfortable seating
- reliability, quality control issues
Looks great, rode fine until 2 months into my purchase. Started having noises coming from two areas in the dashboard. Took it to the dealer 4 times for repairs until they determined one of the problem was from a faulty brake valve. They still can't find the source of the other noise. According to them, most likely due to lack of insulation. Cannot believe this. How can a $30,000+ car roll off the assembly line without adequate insulation and faulty brakes? Looks like I got a lemon....read morehide

- Average sedan.
- Too much money for an average car.
Do not spend much money for an average car. It is not worth it and some problems with the transmission shifting. Look at others with the same price range that are German quality cars.

- Good fuel economy about 24 miles per gallon in the city.
- Transmission seems to jump when in low gear. Accelerates all of a sudden, not a smooth transmission.
Steering is too loose, there is a recall a Avalon's Steering Wheel Columns, and I need to get it fixed.
Transmission doesn't feel right, nothing like the old Avalon of 10 years. The engine doesn't shift smoothly - it jumps into gear.
New Front bumper design is very fragile and the clips break too easily, and my bumper is about to fall off....read morehide
