- roomy interior, nice quiet ride on freeways, good breaks, nice exterior.
- bad Nav. system, bad fuel economy in city, road noise in city driving.
In March 2005 I purchased a new Toyota Avalon Limited, drove it for 8400 miles and traded it in for a new 2008 model on 11/9/2008. The 2005 model was very good, with in the City milage of 21.5 MPG, and on my highway trips 29.5 MPG always with 89 octane Gasoline. With the 2008 Avalon I am getting only 17.5 MPG in the city and 27 MPG on the highway(not very good). The other thing I have noticed is that the road noise and ride is very rough and choppy on the surface city streets in my new 2008 Toyota Avalon Limited in comparison to my 2005 model, which was a very smooth ride all around. The steering on the 2008 is a lot more precise (accurate) than it was with my 2005 model. Otherwise both year models Avalon cars are equal to each other. Backing up that car is an other story, which is not the easiest task to do. The paint on all new Toyotas is to soft, and the reason for that is because it's a water based paint, which is better for the environment so I have been told.
