This Toyota Camry hybrid is the best vehicle I have ever owned and would recommend to anyone to purchase it. The dependability, quality of ride and the ease of driving it is terrific.

- Great fuel economy and love the GPS once I learn how to use effectively.
- Fully loaded you would think wood trim is avail.
Very pleased with the overall performance but I was driving an 07 Volvo S70 turbo made a difference. Still is better than I had expected and I"m absolutely sold on this car. It is the an incredible car and I wouldn't go back to just any car or truck. I am truly sold on this car. I have driven many luxury cars in my 35 + Yrs. and love driving my 08 Camry Hybrid everyday. My Ford F350 truck sits in the driveway 90 % of the time. It handles the road well in all weather conditions. I would like to see toyota offer Flex fuel and all wheel drive at some point and that would make it the perfect car. I'll have my name on that car early!!...read morehide

- Grat Fuel Economy for a larger car. Love stereo & Built In Blue Tooth
- Trunk small but understandable.
I was surprised by the negative reviews RE: Gas Mileage. First, the Camry is a fairly large and heavy car. My son and daughter-in-law own a Prius. They get about 40 plus per gallon of gas. As it should since the Prius is a small car. A really small car. Little if any trunk. But if you are looking for maximum mileage, then the Prius is the way to go. But if you want a true family car that gets much better mileage than other cars the same size, the the Camry is for you. I am in sales and drove a VW Passat for 6 years. it had 4 cylinder Turbo that required premium gas. I averaged a little better than 21 miles per gallon around town, which is mostly what I drive, since freeways in LA tend to be stop and go any time of the day. My first two tanks of gas, I am averaging over 34 miles per gallon of regular gas. With the Passat (14 gallon tank), I averaged about 300 miles. The Camry takes me almost 480 miles with 14 gallons of, again, regular gas. In other words, the Passat costs almost $250.00 a month for gas while the Camry costs about $140.00 month. That equates to a $110.00 a month savings. Thats over $1300.00 per year. And I paid about what I would have paid for a new Passat with the same add ons. And lets face it, the day of $2.00 gas is gone....read morehide

- Very smooth, quiet, comfortable ride. Smooth and effortless acceleration. Good fuel economy.
- Truck is small - although well configured - it holds a lot for its size
Good fuel economy. We typically get 35 to 37 mpg in L.A/Orange County freeway and surface street traffic. I've gotten as high as 47mpg (in L.A. rush hour traffic) and as low as 32. We have noticed the longer the trip the better the mpg - also the hybrid seems to be especially sensitive to driving with a heavy foot. I love the smooth and quiet ride - no car fatique with this car. The transition from electric to gas, gas to electric is invisible. There is plenty of power for fast acceleration - the gas engine and electric motor working together give the power of a 6 cylinder engine. (My previous car was a 6 cylinder and it didn't have as good acceleration.) The keyless ignition works great for me - I was always losing my car keys in the bottom of my purse - don't have that problem any more. The trunk is small, but it is well configured - I get more in it than I thought I would. We've had the car for 16 months and we have no complaints....read morehide

- Good ride
- Just does not get mileage expected
This car is average and not worth the extra money - not at all what I intended to get for my money. After having several Toyoya [rpducts, I plan to look seriouly at Ford and GM.

- Quiet, smooth ride, seems to glide around, like the green color and of course fuel economy.
- love/hate with the key system, trunk space
Had a 05 Accord EX 4 cyl before and thought it was an excellent car
but I like this 08 TCH even better. 400 miles driven and will fill up soon as I'm at 1/4 tank. Looks like 36 mpg over all. I'm enthusiastic about this car and YES I would buy this one again! I'm curious about those with negative comments. Are they just unlucky or do they have some other agenda?...read morehide

- Excellent fuel economy, other excellent features in top trim package.
- None (except the Turanzas)
One reviewer wrote that the brakes were overly sensitive. That is actually a feature of the car to increase braking when the car senses you are in a panic braking mode. And it really works very well. Perhaps less tailgating would prevent this.
I find I average about 38 mpg in 75 mile per day commute on the highway and in the city, so the car more than lives up to the mpg claims. Hot rodders will never get good mileage no matter what they drive, so I can see how some "lead foot"s would get less. Generally I get as high as 44 mpg if I travel on the highway. I have not gotten the best mpg in the city, but I think that would require a flat terrain to achieve the advertised city mpg.
Otherwise, quiet and comfortable with the leather trim, navigation, etc. Oh, the heated seats are supposed to work intermittently, since they heat up, then turn off, then re-heat when the thermostat gets to a certain level.
I can't say I like the Turanza's that come standard on the car. I am looking forward to getting a better set of rubber. The automatic traction control really saves the car from these sub-par tires (all Toyota drivers I have spoken with don't like the stock rubber.)...read morehide

- highway mileage great, city does not live up to hype
- Overly sensitive brakes, warranty issues with climate control and heated seat switches
Generally I was impressed with the technology of the car, very impressed with highway performace, however daily driving in large urban area - a bit frustrating with hybrid uniqueness, and city mileage way off expectations. I live in Vancouver, Canada - so savings on urban driving was one of the reasons I bought the vehicle. I have also had warranty problems with the automatic climate control and heated seat switches which worked intermittently at best!
I also find the fit and finnish below par compared to previous Camry's I have owned. Inside door panels hard plastic with sharp edges, for example....read morehide
