We have owned this car for 5 months now. Recently took it on a trip to Texas and averaged 38.26 mpg traveling at 70 - 75 mph. Highest we got was 40.223 and lowest was 35.1. We like it better than the 1999 Camry we previously owned.

I'm very happy with this car (LE HYBRID). average about 39.5mi/gal. after 1500 miles. Surprisingly, it has plenty of power to change lane or passing, very comfortble, very roomy, comfortable for 5 adults. I used to own a 2010 Nissan Maxima which is a lot more expensive than this car, even though it has a better look than the camry, I would take this Camry Hybrid over the Maxima at any day.
There was one tank of gas that I drove like drove my Maxima (floor the gas pedal like a sport car, trying to get 0-60 in 7.2 seconds, then the average is 36 miles/gallon. Just imagine I used to get ~20 mil/gal with super unleaded, now I get ~40 miles/gal with regular unleaded, with little compremise in power, almost the same in handling, with better comfort.... can't complain....read morehide2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

- nice ride
- Cons
- no such a good fuel economy

When I bought they told me the Camry will give me 40 mi/g. After a few days they told me I need to wait longer and know how to drive it. Well, I can't get more than 30 mi/g.

Bought the car because gas prices have risen so much over the past few years and I drive 35,00km/yr and $4,500/yr in fuel. I am using about 45% less gas that the Impala I had with the 3.8L engine based on real world city / hwy driving. The digital feed back becomes a challenge to see if you can do better than the time before. My best record is 4.8L/100km on a 45km combined city/hwy drive. My average is 5.7L/100km over the past (4) months. Extremely happy with this purchase.
There are times when I am driving down the highway at 100km/hr on battery power (engine off)!! Brake regeneration is beautiful in it simplicity - free energy that is not being converted to heat in the brakes. Remarkably less emmissions in that the engine is off in slow traffic and while sitting at a stop light.
Great job Toyota!...read morehide2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- After owning for 13 months I get an actual overall 41.3 mpg (dash reads 42.6).
- Cons
- No standard power seats in LE model.

After comparing the Toyota hybrid with the Ford Fusion ($4,000 more) and the Hyundai Sonata hybrids (deceptive MPG ratings and long braking distances), it was an easy choice. Having an engine with no belts and only a few hoses is a move in the right direction for automotive manufacturers. With additional airbags standard over the number found in other cars, this car feels correct in the direction of safety which should be attained in newer vehicles. After test rides in other cars with very confusing dashboard layouts, the Toyota's simple, easy to use 'buttons' makes for safer utilization while driving. The car has surprising power when needed....read morehide

Great perfromance.
Smooth quiet ride and very quiet engine compared to 2013 Honda Accord with 4 cylinder.
More hp than 2013 Chevy Malibu LS and 2013 Honda Accord EX.
Rivals all other hybrid cars.1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

Bought the first hybrid in 2011. The price was $ 29,000 out the door. It is a basic model but it has all the features I need. On the road I average between 36 to 38 mpg driving at 70+ mph. At the 60 to 70 mph I get 39 to 40 mpg. I've got 45,000 miles and the car has run beautifully. My son drove my car and bought the 2012 model. He got more features (bluetooth and computer plug in options), a nicer interior and paid $27,000 out the door.
His car has more trunk room and gets 40 to 43 mpg routinely. The newer 2012 models weigh less and handle better than the earlier models. I still love my car but the 2012 hybrids are definitely better....read morehide7 out of 7 people found this review helpful.

I live smack-dab-in-the-middle of San Francisco... as you can imaging I'm driving up and down hills constantly... And i circumnavigate the south-bay 2 or 3 times a week... I average 40.9 mpg all-around driving... And there is no way to drive-like-a-granny as the traffic demands you keep-pace or die! Now understand I am a former/long time, loyal Chrysler customer driving the Concord the largest of Chrysler cars... I find the interior of the Camry Hybrid just as roomy, and all-day comfort... Add all the high-tech wireless features and gadgets... A cool feature not noted is the driver side seat, it's power assist pushes all the way back on the seat rails permitting you to work with your lap-top computer easily between you and the steering-wheel, very nice... "I'm loving it" like no other car I've ever owned. I don't give a dam about the environment, I've long hated the idea of stepping on the break and wasting all my money in the form of heat - energy lost. I really love the smooth Gas/Electric drive train, its as smooth as silk - touch the break and capture the energy! Now where I average 40mpg... my wife averages 36 mpg... she drives like Cruella De Vil : ) with a manic smile on her face : )...read morehide

This may be the best car I have ever owned. I love everything about it. Got all the bells and whistles although I haven't used the Entune much. Sounds system us great, gas mileage has been impressive. Love the heated seats. The steering and braking seems almost intuitive. Love this car!

I bought my 2012 XLE "used" with 6000 miles on it for a sizable discount. There is literally nothing outside of oil changes and "inspects" for the first 100000 miles and no (read zero) belts.
The thing is designed for reliability and I expect it to offer the least expensive 12 years of driving I have ever experienced. If you want to tromp on it the car has plenty of go in it but why tromp on it when you have so much fun cheating the gas man.
I love the way it shows you your instant mileage and how much energy you are recovering that is wasted as heat in a normal car....read morehide4 out of 4 people found this review helpful.
