- Good mpg 24 in town, 29 on road. Quite ride for a convertible and sits up well.
- Seats could be padded more and back view took some getting used to.
I'm 52 and tired of the mom SUV so went looking for a car for me. My husband had seen a Solara convertible at work and wanted me to try it. I was looking a the Sebring but once I drove the Solara I was hooked. It has a smooth ride and handles great. Good pickup even with the 5 speed. Have not had any trouble with the car or top and have had it for 8 months. I can't stand for it to be dirty because it deserves the best. Would recommend it to everyone wanting a convertible. Everyone wants to be me when I've got the top down. The worst thing about this car is my husband likes driving it too....read morehide

- good fuel economy.
- no acceleration, too many factory deffects.
I have had the car for about a year now. If you are going to buy get the 6 cl one. 4cl doesn't accelerate compared to other 4cl out there. Overall very unhappy with the car, Will not buy Toyota again.

I have this car and love it. The ride is smooth, the pickup and go is great and the inside is beautiful.

I drive the Solara, my husband drives a Lexis. He says if he closes his eyes in my car, he would think he was in his Lexis. It drives great.

- good gas milage, rides nice
- horrible interior fabric
The things I dislike the most about the Solara '06 are the cloth seat covers.. Every black speck and hair (I have the tan interior) clings to this pseudo-micro-suede fabric - - - its absolutely aweful, and impossible to keep clean - - and this is why I am hopeing to trade in this car for another soon! It is a brand new car & the interior looks aweful already....read morehide

- Smooth and quiet ride, comfortable front seats, leg room for taller drivers, decent trunk space
- Blind spot front drivers side, 5 speed manual shift & downshift is awkward
Overall, I am supper happy with this vehicle. I've had it for 2 weeks and it is probably the best car I have driven in my time. This was actually the 1st time I have driven off the dealer lot and did not have any regrets about price, great value!!! Very smooth ride, very quiet, comfortable front and back seats. My wife and I actually made our decision to buy while we sat in the back seat and talked it over.
I have noticed a blind spot on the front drivers side and if anyone has ever driven or have an SUV you know what I am talking about. I have the same problem with my Chevy Trailblazer when I am turning left or right. I have to kind of lean forward some to make sure I am not going to hit anything.
I haven't had a manual vehicle in awhile so I am getting use to it again but I do notice that the shifting is a litte awkward. Feels like the car goes into gear a little faster then normal.
Other than that I am very confident and happy with the Sporty Solara! I am having a great time driving so far! Highly recommended. By the way, I test drove a Civic, Accord, Mazda 6 and Corolla and Camry. We did not bother with Nissan this time (we've owned two and although good cars we wanted change) My wife and I mutually agreed that the Solara was the best car and value for us....read morehide

- Great fuel economy, smooth ride, all the bells and whistles for a great price.
- Rear window could be larger.
Toyota did a superb job with this car. It handles well, has a smooth quiet ride, and is very solid. At six feet tall, I have a lot of leg room with plenty of leg room for the rear passenger. The Solara is a top notch car. At this price, Nissan, Ford and the rest must be going nuts trying to keep up.......sorry guys, better luck next time!!!!...read morehide

- very solid overall feel and handling. very high quality in and out. very comfortable seats
- nothing of really, no problems so far in the first 9,000 miles
this is a high quality auto. I got the five speed auto that can also be shifted manually, having just had a five speed Celica. i never use the manual shifting feature.....this car does what I expected when I bought it....value is a very good word. You can find other nicer cars, few better values.
