- Very quick, exc gas mileage, reliable and comfortable
- Conv chassis shake. Poor rear visability.
This is our 2nd Solara. Got this SEL 3.3L convirtable 3-05 as a 2006. Never a problem. Nothing. Wife gets day to day 26 MPG. Took car on a trip and averaged for 1800 miles 30.3 MPG! I,m tall at 6ft 2in and 260 pounds and I sit comfortable in car. Its quite peppy and handles well. Its got a convertable body shake and expected that. When it rains and water falls of the roof it lands on the front seat bottom. The newer Solara's have a dam at the end of the fabric preventing this. I had the dealer install a body side moulding to protect the unprotected body.. My wife gets unsolicited comments all the time. Wow, thats a nice car! And comments like that. BUT, we sure would love to remove those damm headrests. But they are mechanically rigid and dont come out! They make driving backwards terrible. My wife has hit the garage already. I have no problem driving it, but she does. Another thing is the Premium sound JBL stereo. Its great. I have a new Highlander and the audio system doesnt even come close to the rich sound of the Solara. Very last thing is the Solara rag top is very quiet with the top up. But rain makes lots of noise. Top down and its a HOOT! Great car!!!!!
