- Great exterior styling, good amount of space
- Very cheap interior, Build Quality is pathetic, Transmission Problems
I bought this car thinking it would be a dream. I hate it! I was going to lease a BMW 335i, but because of my stupidity I bought this car instead. It has given me nothing but problems. I hate driving this car, sometimes the car just has a mind of its own. If you are thinking about buying this car, DO NOT BUY IT! It will only give you problems and heartache. Toyota is too proud to admit their mistakes. Look at the Acura TSX, Honda Accord, or something else. Not this car....read morehide

- attractive body style/exterior
- horrific transmission/suspension/audio/tires/air conditioning/cheap interior
I cannot believe Toyota claims this car!! QUALITY is no longer a priority...and forget customer service of any kind! I am now STUCK with a 'piece of junk import'... $30,000.00 2008 Camry XLE that I could have bought from an AMERICAN ('lack of quality') manufacturer for HALF the price! I foolishly ignored the complaints I read about the 2007 Camry...PLEASE BELIEVE ME when I tell you that the problems reported are TRUE...and continue to exist in the 2008 models!!! I will NEVER trust and/or buy from Toyota again!! Their product is pathetic and their arrogance is disgusting....read morehide

- Engine power and smoothness, perceived quality, safety features
- Blind spots, seatbelt alarm annoying, no bodyside protection, bad in the snow, lacks split rear seat
Replaced a 2002 Buick Century with this following all the hype and Motor Trends COTY award. The test drive showed a fairly quick car and a smooth engine and tranny. Interior room is pretty good and I liked the safety features. After spending 8 months with this car, my opinion has changed as numerous annoyances have surfaced. When backing up, the sloped rear makes for tricky blind spots and it really takes getting used to close quarter parking. The seatbelt reminder alarm is annoying and grates on your nerves. I bought my car before Toyota offered the exterior bodyside molding option which protects from door dings. This feature should be standard equipment like it was in all past model years. I also found out that the SE models lack the split folding rear seat that the other models offer. Instead it has a tiny hole into the trunk which is useless. I wish I had caught that prior to purchase! When I purchased my Camry in February, we had a snow storm and I nearly went off the road twice because of the low profile tires which means expensive snow tires on mandatory on this car! The sunroof makes funny noises when open and vibrates, the interior has some cheap plastic bits and numerous cut lines and the seats grow a bit tiresome on long drives. My overall assessment of this car is one of dissapointment. It has good power and the 6 speed transmission usually but not always shifts on time but Toyota clearly cut many corners on this car and didn't develop it as well as the previous editions. Would I buy another? No thanks!!!!...read morehide

- looks and interior
- trasmission, comfort, and performance
The transmission a major problem, doen't to know whether to shift up or down. This car is not a comfortable ride and lacks power for a V6. I should have got the Nissan Altima.

- WITH THE HESITATION CAN'T BE FIXED, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
- HESITATION PROBLEM, NUMBER ONE! TOO EXPENSIVE FOR ITS VALUE!
TOYOTA IS STUBBORN TO ADMIT ITS MISTAKES AND TOO PROUD TO ACCEPT ITS RESPONSIBILITIES! HOW CAN YOU TRUST THIS COMPANY, IF THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO BE HUMBLE ENOUGH AND RECALL ITS DEFECTS!

- This had a good torque, but not enough horses
- I had a lot of mechanical problems with it
I don't know why other people like Toyota, I had only bad experience with it. Right from the factory, it had major problems. The disk brakes were faulty and I had them replaced after 1 month. I had bad Bridgestone tires and because of that it was in the shop for a month, they replace the transmission, CV joints etc, fially they gave me import tires! Door knobs inside are fallling a part, power stering liquid leaking, also I had to replace some "valve". Is this "best 6 years in a row" performance ?...read morehide

- great ride/acceleration, decent fuel economy for a V6, good sound system
- blind spot on turns, annoying passenger seat seatbelt alarm, questionable on snowy roads
I have driven this car nearly 6000 miles so far and it's everything I hoped for in a sporty high performance sedan. The 268 hp gives the car great pop. Travels well on back roads as well as on the highway. 6 CD changer and Bluetooth are nice luxurious touches I've now slowly become accustomed to. I have not experienced any of the problems I've read in other Camry reviews on this site; perhaps I was just lucky with mine. I highly recommend this trim level of the Camry....read morehide
