Purchased As New
I bought this car brand new on August and at first, I really thought Toyota did a great job on it. It's got a smooth V6 and 0-60 times were recorded to be between 5.8 seconds and 6.0 seconds. At the city I get 20 mpg and 26 on the hwy. The interior dimensions was big enough to fit 5 adults inside the car. The trunk was also spacious enough to fit in groceries and utilities.
Now here's what I didn't like about this car. The Quality.
Last month the transmission failed and also the head gaskets had to be replaced because it was overheating so much. I've only had this car for less than 4 months and it's already giving me trouble! When driving on the highway, the engine noise is so loud that it can be heard inside the cabin while under 4000 RPM. Another thing I did not find pleasant with this car is the poor handling. This car handles like a boat, which I'm guessing is because of the poor suspension setup or the stock wheels. The interior is also cheap as well because you can hear plastic materials squeaking inside while driving. Most competitors offers much better interior than the cheap plastic interior of the Camry.
If anyone who is considering buying this automobile, please I urge you to double check what you're doing. Go research online first or test drive them before you buy it.
Luckily I was still under warranty, but I opted not to keep this car. So instead I got the new Ford Fusion V6, which I did not regret at all. To me, it looks like Toyota's quality REALLY did go down the drain. Ford has really stepped up their game now along with Chevy's current lineups. I was really impressed with the overall package of the 2010 Ford Fusion.
What happened to the good 'ol Toyota I used to know? Are they fixated on becoming the number 1 automobile maker in America? Are they becoming so greedy that they do not listen to their loyal Toyota fans? Remember Toyota, QUALITY is more important than QUANTITY.
